Dragon Age The Veilguard walkthrough: How to complete the Desperate in Dock Town quest
In Dragon Age The Veilguard, the Desperate in Dock Town quest involves Rook and the party taking down the Demon of Desperation. Like some other quests in the game, starting this requires you to complete another quest beforehand. Taking place within the Catacombs area, the quest involves you defeating several enemies before battling the boss.
You will be rewarded with an increase in Shadow Dragons' strength stat, among other items, for completing this quest. Below is a guide on completing the Desperate in Dock Town quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard.

Desperate in Dock Town quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard
Before starting this quest, it is imperative to complete the A Hidden Hoard side quest. Reading the three notes at the end of that mission will unlock Desperate in Dock Town. Follow the quest marker and head eastward into the Catacombs area.
Once you reach the Cursed End area, turn right and head through the opening; turn right again, heading into a doorway with rubble scattered around it. You will now find yourself in the Forgotten Sanctuary area, where the Desperation enemy will speak with Rook and the party.
After speaking for a while, Desperation appears along with some other enemies supporting him, namely Despondence, Isolation, and Remorse. All these enemies will launch Cold attacks on Rook and the party, which can cause much damage. Fret not, however, as they are vulnerable to Fire damage.
At a point in the fight, Desperation will disappear from the arena and darken the battlefield. Use ranged Fire attacks on the smaller enemies as well as Desperation, and beware of the boss' blade attacks. As with most other fights in the game, time your dodges correctly, and avoid a portion of the ground that glows red. Keep sending Fire attacks towards the enemies to beat them.
Once defeated, the boss will drop a chest. Interact with it to receive Etheric Remnant, a Demonic Bezoar, and an increase of 250 to Shadow Dragons Strength.
