Dragon Age The Veilguard walkthrough: How to complete The Labs Below quest

Of the many side quests in Dragon Age The Veilguard, The Labs Below is part of a series of quests that explore Solas' memories. It is also one of the earliest side quests found in the game. Since this is a memory, the outcome of events cannot be changed regardless of your choices within the quest, but it is important in helping progress toward the Regrets of the Dread Wolf quest.

The quest involves heading to the Converged City and heading down a ramp to begin the quest and explore deeper into Solas' story. Below is a guide on how to complete this quest.

Head to the Converged City in the Crossroads via the Caretaker's boat, and reach the main area where some enemies need to be taken down. Following that, head through the first door found east of the Gate of Deep Sorrows. Head straight, and Rook will remark on the entryway. Slide down, and the screen will become slightly gray, indicating the start of the quest.

Speak to Tarasahl at the bottom of the slide, pick up the key, and open the large door blocking the way. The area being entered is a lab used by Ghilan'nain, and is infested with many darkspawn. There are many enemies and blight boils in the area, so be careful when fighting them.

These can be taken down with a combination of timely dodging and using some ranged attacks to avoid being infected. One of the enemies that spawns has large blight boils on its body, which will explode once beaten, with the explosive radius denoted by a red circle. Take down the large blight boils first, as they keep spawning in these enemies.

Head deeper into the area, and a set of stairs will appear. Optionally, claim a memento found at the end of the path to the left of the staircase. Head up the stairs and speak with Tarasahl to enter a new room with a large wolf statue in the center. This begins a puzzle that has to be completed in order to proceed forth, involving destroying every blight boil within sight.

Interacting with the statue makes it turn, and it opens the door. Turn the statue such that it opens the door to the east, and destroy all the blight boils within the room. Turn the handle right again, and destroy the boil found on the ceiling of the opened room.

Destroying it will cause a boil in the main room's ceiling to glow, so demolish it. Now, turn the statue towards the north again, and the boil will glow red. Destroy it to proceed forth. You will now reach an open area with a number of blight boils, darkspawn and Ghouls, with a larger enemy also appearing some time into the fight.

As is the case with most battles in the game, take down the enemies with a combination of timely dodging and attacking. Head up the stairs to see a cutscene and prepare for another boss fight, which is similar to the fights you previously fought in during the mission. Remember to avoid the glowing red circles and destroy the blight boils quickly.

Once done, destroy the blight boil and head toward the mission marker. A cutscene will play, and after it ends, a wolf statuette and a chest can be collected. Once done, head up the stairs and exit the mission.
