Watch: Matthew Hayden scores fastest ever, 24-ball century in EA Cricket
This innings could possibly go down in history books as the fastest century ever scored in the ever popular EA Cricket 07.
Mathew Hayden and Ricky Ponting opened the innings for Australia. It was only the fifth over, Ponting was batting on 4 and Hayden raised his bat as he completed demolishing century in just 24 balls. It was not the real cricket but no less than a real match. It happens to be the fastest century in EA cricket ever.
Whatever was coming to his way, the big man from Brisbane was sending it out of the ground effortlessly. He hit 16 sixes and only two boundaries in his monstrous knock. Pitched in line or outside the off stump, short of the length or full toss, the southpaw was smashing everything out of the park. In the process, the innings teaches us few tricks to bat better n EA cricket. The opposing side kept a tight fielding as it was a Test match but Hayden cut loose like never before.
EA Cricket is another great product from EA and immensely popular across the globe. EA Cricket sold over 50 million copies in England, Australia, New Zealand and South Asia. However, the increase in demand to produce a more competent FIFA series made EA cut corners to focus on their primary sports game.
Although the game has lost its popularity of late, EA is all set to re-launch it in 2019. BCCI’s deadlock over players’ rights somehow damaged the game’s popularity in this part of the world and India could have been the biggest market for them. Well, if something like Hayden’s knock happens on a regular basis the game will gain more popularity soon without a doubt.
