EA FC 25: What’s next for the franchise?

EA FC 25 is the EA franchise's latest entry into the world of virtual football. It has introduced numerous thrilling changes ranging from the FC IQ system to more competitive FUT Champs that caught the EA FC fans by surprise. However, the title seems to lack in some key areas that could've prevented it from being the lowest-rated game in the franchise's history.

In this article, we'll discuss some key areas that might help the EA franchise's next rendition to restore its former glory.

What is the future of the EA FC franchise?

If we have to talk about the future of the EA FC franchise and what must be improved, the first that comes to our mind are the numerous glitches. If you search for FC 25 glitches right now, you can find tons of videos showcasing where the game falters.

While at some point you'll witness Mbappe missing an easy shot, the other moment you'll see either your or the opponent's goalie stuck inside the goal, making a player score an easy banger. Even though glitches are a part of any multiplayer game, the situation sometimes becomes miserable in FC 25. Hence, they should focus on releasing their next iteration of the title with the least glitches.

EA must bring back "The Journey" or a similar storyline as it had in its previous iterations. Although the Career Mode of FC 25 seems quite refined, it severely lacks depth. Dealing with the on and off-field decisions that used to impact a player's morale or chemistry with their team can be a great addition to the title. We have already seen EA use a similar concept in their other sports simulation games, like the F1 series.

The next thing we can all agree on is that EA needs to introduce more features, like an open world and more interactive cutscenes to the Career mode. As already seen in games like 2K's basketball sim title NBA 2K, players get to explore an open world full of various activities. Moreover, the interactive cut scenes make the gameplay experience more immersive.

Another issue we should note is that the EA servers aren't too stable in some cases. The developers must work on the servers to provide an enhanced experience, especially for their online mode. Moreover, fans have complained about FUT Champs being more competitive. Hence, American developers should make it a less competitive or dedicated mode for casual gamers.

Many fans have shown discontent with Scripting and DDA (Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment) in EA FC, which yield unfortunate match results or unbalanced matchmaking issues. Moreover, even though they have their own patented DDA technology, they have never used it in any of their competitive sports simulation titles like FC, Madden and NHL to ensure fair play.

EA must address these issues, especially with the rise of more soccer simulation games like eFootball and UFL. Moreover, there have been some rumors of 2K joining hands with FIFA to unveil a new game that can challenge the reign of the EA FC series.
