EA SPORTS FIFA 17 has released the BPL Team of the Season and it looks unbeatable
The end of the English Premier League season is upon us with this Sunday being the last matchday of the season. And, as per FIFA’s standard operating procedure, EA Sports have released updated Ultimate Team cards of players who have made the team of the season. Featuring heavily upgraded attributes and overall ratings, this team looks unbeatable on paper. Read on to find out more.
Goalkeeper
David De Gea (95)
The Manchester United shot-stopper has enjoyed another stellar season in goal for the Red Devils and finds himself on the Premier League Team of the Season for the third year running. The Spaniard’s talents are again attracting attention from Spain and if his overall rating in the TOTS card is anything to go by, Real Madrid will be making a long term investment which will pay high dividends if they manage to keep Manchester United’s fax machines working this time.
De Gea’s updated card is rated at an overall of 95 with individual attributes rated at diving(95), reflexes(96), positioning(93) and kicking at 91, making him the complete goalkeeping package. De Gea will likely be an upgrade on whatever goalkeeping options are available FUT teams worldwide and expect this card’s price to skyrocket in the transfer market.
Defence
The TOTS features players from the stingiest league defences of the season. Spurs players Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Walker make it into the lineup with Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso complete the back four. Kyle Walker has been a marauding presence down the right flank for the Spurs all season and makes it into the lineup as the lowest ranked player in the lineup with an overall of 89, with his highest attribute being his blistering pace which is rated at 95.
The other wing-back is Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso rated at an overall of 90. Apart from being a defensively solid full-back has also contributed six goals to Chelsea’s title winning season. Finding himself in open spaces time and again with an underrated attacking instinct, Alonso receives 90+ ratings for his dribbling, passing and physical abilities while his other attributes are rated in the high 80s.
The centre back pairing is composed of Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta who receives a 91 rating as a centre back with defensive instincts and physicality being rated higher than 90. Spurs’ Belgian defender, Jan Vertonghen completes the defence with another 91 overall with defence and physicality being rated in the mid-90s.
Midfield
The TOTS features a strong midfield filled to the brim with attacking, power running and defensive attributes. The central midfield features the ying-yang pairing of N’Golo Kante and Dele Alli with the ball-winning duties delegated to the tireless French midfielder who receives a 92 rating after winning his second Premier League title in two years. Kante’s attributes of pace, dribbling, defence, passing and physicality are all rated above the 90 mark with his only sub-90 attribute being his shooting which is also at an impressive 85.
Dele Alli has been instrumental in the Spurs’ displays of attacking football this season. His all English partnership with Harry Kane has been a fruitful one for the London club and Alli ends up with a rating of 91 on FIFA for his efforts in Tottenham’s charge to second place this season. Being defensively slightly weak, Alli is given a 75 rating in that department while shooting, passing, dribbling and physical attributes are all rated over the 90 mark.
The wings of this TOTS team have intimidating players on both flanks. On the left flank is arguably the Premier League’s best player, Eden Hazard who has been given an out of this world rating of 98 after his scintillating performances in a free role in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation. His defence rating is poor at 50, and his second lowest attribute is physicality which is 84. All other attributes like dribbling, shooting, passing and pace are extraordinary and rated above the 95 mark, making him, by far the deadliest player in the team.
The other flank is occupied by Liverpool’s Senegalese winger Sadio Mane who tops the team in pace ratings with a game-high 99. Like Hazard, his defence rating is low at 48 while all other attributes are above the 90 mark, including physicality. Going by his performances before an injury, Liverpool’s season might have been a different story if Mane had kept fit throughout the gruelling Premier League campaign.
Attack
The TOTS attack features the Premier League’s two Golden Boot contenders in Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Spurs’ Harry Kane. Both players have scored over 25 goals each this season and are given similar ratings of 94 in the TOTS cards. Harry Kane may be the slower of the two with a pace rating of 85 compared to Lukaku’s 92 but he is better at linking up play with his passing stats of 94 to the Belgian’s 90. Both players are extremely potent goalscorers and share similar 90+ ratings for all their other attributes like physicality, shooting, dribbling and passing making them complimentary to each other and completing a dynamic attacking force.
