"Epic DC collab can't wait": Internet speculates possible collab as Batmobiles return to Rocket League

After years of inactivity from DC (Detective Comics), Epic Games has unvaulted every Batmobile in Rocket League. The information was disclosed by veteran Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR, who obtained the information from SamLeakss. Coming back to the news, this is a huge moment given that DC has slowed down on their collaborations over the past few years.

User basit_memeshub, on social media platform, X, reacted to the news by stating:

"Epic DC Collab Can't Wait."

It would seem that they have something 'cooking' and this is likely their way of creating hype within the Rocket League community. This could be the renewal of DC collaborations in a large way, as leaker ShiinaBR also states DC is not off the tables anymore.

Return of Batmobiles to Rocket League potentially hints at a larger DC-Epic Games partnership

The return of Batmobiles is not something major in the grand scheme of things, especially since none of the vehicles are new. But it does raise a few questions as to what Epic Games and Warner Bros could be up to. User Laughter_Ladka had this to say:

"Does the return of Batmobiles to Rocket League hint at a larger DC-Epic Games partnership?"

It is as well-know fact that there's new content for DC in development, but none of it releases anytime soon. The next Superman movie that is being directed by James Gunn will debut in July 11, 2025, which is a long time away.

Thus, if something is in in the works in terms of a crossover, it may not be related to upcoming movies/comics/series, but more so for things that have already passed. The last collaboration for DC in videos games owned by Epic Games would be the Black Adam (Outfit) in Fortnite.

Black Adam was introduced to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 4 (2022). Recent leaks showcased that he is finally getting his LEGO Style. While this is sheer speculation, it may be possible that DC is preparing to release cosmetics related to Black Adam in Rocket League too.

Or maybe, other cosmetics (such as Batmobiles) from Rocket League could be imported to Fortnite for Rocket Racing and/or Battle Royale/Zero Build. With Epic Games actively ensuring cosmetics are made cross-compatible, Batmobiles could arrive in Chapter 6 Season 1 for Fortnite.

It is being speculated that the Batmobile may be inspired by Japanese Mythology and Samurai culture. While it may not fit the theme, it is good to remember that Batman Ninja was based in Japan. As such, a collaboration between Fortnite and DC could work well considering a version of the Batmobile exists in that universe too.

With a sequel, Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League currently in development, Chapter 6 Season 1 is the perfect place for a DC collaboration. User BigChrisSpirito on X had this to say:

"There’s the entire rogue gallery for Batman, alt attires for Superman, Joker and Harley…. Seriously they are leaving major money on the table not doing something for DC fans. I enjoyed the Marvel season but a DC season with Gotham City and Metropolis similar to Mega City a few seasons back would be absolutely fire."

It remains to be seen what Epic Games has planned with Warner Bros when it comes to Rocket League. As pointed out by BigChrisSpirito, while MCU collaborations are amazing, DC has a lot to offer as well.

Sadly. in terms of collaborations for both Rocket League and Fortnite, DC is dwarfed by other brands/frachises. User johndabot, sums things up by stating:

"PLEASE. They have too many awesome characters to not be getting them as consistently as we see Disney characters. Fortnite is one of the only WB streams that can confidently stay in the green."

That said, the arrival of Rocket League Season 16 and Chapter 6 Season 1 in December 2024 could bring about some much needed renewal for DC.

Even if its just one new cosmetic for each game, it would give the community hope that Warner Bros. have not abandoned their fans. It would reassure them that they have been working on collaborations quietly.

Hopefully, these predictions will turn out to be true.
