Swathing is a process of harvesting crops that involves cutting them and grouping them together with straws. To follow the practice, you need to swath the crops with a machine called the swather, following which you use a harvester with a special header to collect it. You can only swath specific crops in the game, these are:

  • Barley
  • Wheat
  • Oats
  • Canola
  • Soybeans

While we have explained what Swathing is, fans might be on the fence about it considering the additional labor involved. However, while swathing involves an additional step of using a swather before a harvester with a special header to collect the crop, it can produce an increased produce in terms of both the crop and straws. Swathing crops can lead up to a 25% increase in yield when compared to traditional harvesting.
