Farming Simulator 25 stuttering and crashing on PS5: Possible fixes and reasons
Apart from the multiplayer server bug, the recently released Farming Simulator 25 is also victim to serious performance issues, including stuttering and even crashing on launch on almost every platform. There can be numerous reasons including overheating and low storage that can result in poor gaming performance.
Even though the developer is expected to release a patch soon to fix these issues, for now, you can try the tips mentioned below to help you out.
Note: The fixes may not bear fruit for everyone. However, they are worth trying until GIANTS Software releases an official patch.
Fixing performance issues in Farming Simulator 25 on PS5
Farming Simulator 25 is unfortunately poorly optimized at the time of writing. Also, the game only runs at 30 FPS on consoles which is a downside considering their previous title Farming Simulator 22 ran at 60 FPS on consoles.
To make things worse, the previously mentioned issues like stuttering and crashing while playing Farming Simulator 25 can be deeply annoying. Fortunately, you can try the tips below that might help you fix these problems.
1) Restart the game as well as your PS5
If you have been playing Farming Simulator 25 for extended hours, try closing the game and then restarting it. While you are at it, you can restart the console as well. This will give your console enough time to return to its normal temperature. If your CPU and GPU temperatures exceed way too much, this can cause performance issues while gaming.
To do so, follow these steps:
- Press the PlayStation button on your dual-sense controller.
- Select the power option.
- Choose "Restart PS5".
2) Overheating and poor ventilation
Continuing along the lines of the first tip itself, if your console is kept in a poorly ventilated area like inside a closed cabinet, it can also lead to overheating. Try relocating your console to an area that has good airflow and proper ventilation.
Also, make sure that your PS5 doesn't have any dust accumulated as this can also lead to performance depletions. You can clean your console by opening the side panels and removing any dust particles that might be there.
3) Check all the cables and internet connection
Since Farming Simulator 25 majorly runs online, make sure to check your Wi-Fi is working properly. In case you are using an ethernet connection, ensure that the cable is properly inserted and is not damaged by any means. Also, take the same precautions for your HDMI cable to prevent facing any input delays.
4) Check for game updates
Even though automatic game updates are turned on by default for most users, you can check for this manually by following these steps:
- Navigate through your games and select the Farming Simulator 25 game tile.
- Press the Options button and click "Check for Update."
5) Check available storage on your PS5
If your console is low on storage, this can also be one of the reasons why the Farming Simulator keeps on crashing or lagging. To fix this, use these steps:
- Go to Settings and scroll down to Storage.
- Delete Saved Data under Console Storage and Extended Storage.
- If you have any unwanted save files for Metaphor, delete them as well. For this, go to Game/App Settings and clear the Saved Data.
Similarly, PC devices are also prone to this issue. You can check the linked guide if you're also facing Farming Simulator 25 stuttering and crashing on PC.
