FIFA 18: EA Sports grants ex-Real Madrid star Sami Khedira's wish, gives updates his in-game hairstyle
What's the story?
German midfielder Sami Khedira took to Twitter to acknowledge the changes made by EA Sports in the FIFA 2018 game with respect to his hairstyle. The midfielder, who shifted from long locks to short hair two years ago, openly criticised the makers of the game earlier this year to which they finally responded.
In case you didn't know
The 30-year-old Khedira, who has made 72 appearances for the German national team since his debut in 2009 plied his trade for Real Madrid for five years before he shifted bases to join Juventus in 2015. Sporting long hair when he joined Juventus, the central midfielder decided to retire his hairstyle and shift to shorter hair.
Heart of the Matter
In October earlier this year, Khedira tweeted to EA Sports, sarcastically mentioning that he liked their enthusiasm for him sporting his long hair while also adding that he had shifted to short hair once he joined Juventus. The midfielder requested EA to make the change and two months later, lo and behold! His wish was granted.
Similar to his look in the latest fad in town, PES 2017, Khedira's hair-do has changed in FIFA 18. Moreover, his in-game face has changed to suit his hairstyle which looks far more realistic than how he was portrayed in FIFA 16.
While he did not quite get the sarcastic reply that Mitchy Batshuayi got when he sent his plea across to Electronic Arts, his new hairstyle and face cut will definitely add more spice to the game.
What's next?
The midfielder will continue to feature for his Juventus side in the Serie A clashes and will be upbeat as his side has been doing well, currently occupying the third position on the points table.
Author's Take
It's good to see that EA Sports has taken the German's request into consideration which will certainly be an improvement to the game which has come under criticism over time for its ratings of players.
