FIFA 18: Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli slams 'unrealistic' ratings in latest edition of game
What's the story?
21-year-old Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli expressed disappointment on the ratings that he has been given in the FIFA 18 game. In an appearance on the Manchester United's former defender Rio Ferdinand's YouTube channel, the youngster said that he had expected more from EA Sports this year. He called the FIFA ratings 'unrealistic', and according to him, he deserves more.
He had previously stated that EA should not be giving him ratings below than 85 or 86. However, this year he got disappointed again, as EA handed him an overall of 84. Although Alli somewhat agreed to the pace rating of 76, acknowledging that he is a bit slow, he out-rightly disagreed with the other ratings and wanted them to be more realistic.
In case you didn't know
Alli has been crucial in Tottenham Hotspurs' rise since his move from MK Dons in 2015. His past performances in the England's national team have also been a treat to watch. In addition to it, the midfielder has also won the PFA 'Young Player of the Year' award in both his seasons with Tottenham.
The heart of the matter
In an appearance on Rio Ferdinand's FIVE YouTube channel, Ferdinand pointed out that Alli does not look happy with his rating card. When asked if he was happy with his ratings, he replied that he was not. He said that every year, he expected a more realistic rating, and every year, he has to face disappointment.
Commenting on his defense rating of 64, Alli mentioned that earlier when he was in MK Dons, he played primarily as a defensive midfield, and so, he was expecting a better rating card in FIFA 18. While he agreed that his pace is slow, he couldn't understand as to why EA gave him lower ratings in passing, shooting, and dribbling.
What's next?
As the midfielder was not happy about his ratings, Rio Ferdinand asked him to revise them, according to what Dele thought was more accurate. The Spurs man gave himself a 91 in passing, boosting the FIFA number from 77. Talking about his physical attributes, Alli thought that he could perform a little more in the gym sessions.
