Genshin Impact Withering Purpurbloom locations and farming routes
Withering Purpurbloom is a new Natlan local specialty introduced in Genshin Impact 5.2. It is a material used for the recently released 5-star Anemo unit Chasca's ascension. Recent leaks for version 5.3 have disclosed that Withering Purpurbloom will also possibly be used to ascend Pyro Archon Mavuika, who is speculated to be released in Genshin Impact 5.3.
You will need a total of 168 Withering Purpurbloom to ascend Chasca (and later Mavuika) to Level 90. This article provides a guide on how to quickly farm this material in Natlan.
Genshin Impact Withering Purpurbloom locations and farming routes
There are a total of 80 Withering Purpurbloom that can be collected in one go from the overworld map of Natlan. They can be found in the Ochkanatlan region, and you can use the "Go to Collect" tracking feature in order to navigate to their locations.
Additionally, you can get five Withering Purpurbloom by interacting with an NPC called Kannek in the Flower-Feather Clan area. These five can be obtained one time only. You can also obtain 30 more Withering Purpurbloom by completing Chasca's Tribal Chronicles quest — "Of Fading Flowers and Falling Feathers".
These are all the Withering Purpurbloom available in the Natlan overworld map, along with their farming routes:
Route #1
Teleport to this waypoint on a cliff northeast of the Ochkanatlan Statue of the Seven. Head southeast from here to collect one Withering Purpurbloom.
Route #2
Teleport to the waypoint straight east of the Ochkanatlan Statue of the Seven, and collect four Withering Purpurbloom nearby, as marked by the green line.
Route #3
Head over to the Teleport Waypoint directly south of the Ochkanatlan Statue of the Seven, and transform into a Qucusaur using the Spiritsconce nearby. Fly straight ahead to collect three Withering Purpurbloom, then fly west to the next cliff. Collect nine Withering Purpurbloom from this cliff and then fly to the next cliff on the west to collect five more Withering Purpurbloom. You will get a total of 17 Withering Purpurbloom from this route.
Route #4
Teleport to the Ochkanatlan Statue of the Seven and collect the two Withering Purpurbloom around it before heading southeast to collect five more Withering Purpurbloom.
Route #5
Teleport to the Ochkanatlan Statue of the Seven and head northwest to collect the first Withering Purpurbloom on Ashflow Street. From here, turn east and jump down to ground level, then follow the marked route to collect six more Withering Purpurbloom.
Route #6
Teleport to the Vucub Caquix Tower Teleport Waypoint as shown on the map (this waypoint can be unlocked while completing the world quest titled City Buried by Ash). From here, turn south, exit the room through the door, and collect the seven Withering Purpurbloom scattered amongst the Hilichurl camp (marked by the blue line).
From here, jump down to ground level and collect four more Withering Purpurbloom (as marked by the red line). After collecting them, keep heading northwest till you see a cave entrance. Enter the cave and follow the route (marked by the yellow line) to collect five more Withering Purpurbloom.
You can collect a total of 16 Withering Purpurbloom from this route.
Route #7
Teleport to the waypoint northwest of the one used in Route 6, and simply follow the path northwest as shown on the map to collect a total of 11 Withering Purpurbloom.
Route #8
Teleport to the Cradle of Fleeting Dreams Teleport Waypoint (northwest of the waypoint used in Route 7). This waypoint can be unlocked during the main Ochkanatlan World Quest. Once here, jump down and glide till you see an area with a big tree and a Phlogiston activation point beside it. Start following the path (as marked on the route) and collect the 11 Withering Purpurbloom along it.
Route #9
Teleport to the waypoint southeast of the one used in Route 8. Turn northeast, jump down, and glide till you reach the area shown on the map. You can transform into a Qucusaur and fly to reach it faster. Once there, collect the three Withering Purpurbloom.
Route #10
Teleport to the waypoint on the northwest-most island of Ochkanatlan, and collect three Withering Purpurbloom from here. Keep in mind that one of the Withering Purpurbloom on this island (the one inside the gate) will be locked behind the Ochkanatlan main world quest.
