Trailblazers can now download the necessary files ahead of time to access the upcoming content as soon as the patch goes live. As such, they will likely want to know the storage requirements of the pre-installation.

The Honkai Star Rail 2.7 preload is officially available as of December 2, 2024. You can access the feature across PC, PlayStation, Android, and iOS devices. Here are the pre-download file sizes for different platforms:
- PC: 21 GB (approx)
- Android: 13 GB (approx)
- iOS: 18 GB (approx)
- PlayStation: 44.5 GB (recommended)
It is worth noting that the total file size will expand once the update goes live, as the game will decompress all the resources. Moreover, the HSR 2.7 preload size for Android, iOS, PC, and PlayStation will vary depending on the number of voice-over expansion packages installed in your system.

HoYoverse recommends allocating approximately 45 GB of storage space for the full installation on the PC. The file size will remain the same for PlayStation and will be pre-installed as soon as you boot up the game. If the preload process doesn't start automatically, try freeing up some storage space and try again.
Using a stable internet connection is recommended to complete the pre-download. In case a resource fails to integrate during installation, the missing will be downloaded accordingly. Unlike PC, you cannot boot up the game on mobile devices while downloading the resources.
That said, preloading files ahead of the updates in Star Rail is quite straightforward, and the process can be initiated through the respective launchers.
Honkai Star Rail 2.7 release date and time
The Honkai Star Rail 2.7 patch will be released globally on December 4, 2024. This update will introduce a wealth of new content and will be preceded by a five-hour maintenance period during which HoYoverse will shut down the servers. However, you will be rewarded 600 Stellar Jades as compensation for the inconvenience caused.
