How to defeat Raditz in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
Raditz in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is one of the first bosses you will face in the game. In the manga and anime series, Goku faces Raditz at the start of Dragon Ball Z, which is also the beginning of the Saiyan saga. Raditz is Goku's biological brother, who reveals that Goku is not human, but a member of an elite warrior race called the Saiyan.
Just like many other Dragon Ball games, Sparking Zero also starts with a fight against Raditz. This can be quite challenging if you don’t know how to defeat him. In this guide, we will delve into some strategies that you can use to defeat Raditz in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.

Best strategy for defeating Raditz in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
The main strategy to defeat Raditz revolves around entering Sparking Mode quickly and taking advantage of it as much as possible. Charge your Ki at the beginning of the fight. Once you have enough charge and your Skill Count progress bar (located in the upper-left corner) is full, activate Sparking Mode.

Once in Sparking Mode, use the Z-Burst Dash to get behind Raditz by holding the Ki Charge button and pressing the Dash button twice. Raditz is skilled at dodging long-range attacks, so getting close to him is very important.
When you’re behind him, unload a string of Rush Attacks and try a 20-hit combo. When you reach the 20-hit mark, Raditz will drop out of the combo. This is the perfect opportunity to punish him with a Super Kamehameha.
After using Super Kamehameha, immediately recharge your Ki to enter Sparking Mode again and repeat the process. Raditz is very fast and hitting him from a distance is quite hard. So, try to close the gap with him whenever you can. This combination of Z-Burst Dash, 20-hit combos, and Super Kamehameha will quickly drain Raditz’s health, allowing you to unlock the alternate story path.
The canon path and the alternate path for the fight against Raditz in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
If you choose to go to the battle solo, then Goku faces Raditz alone without the help of Piccolo. Abilities, like Meteor Smash and Kamehameha, can be useful when Raditz is low on health. These mid-range attacks are especially helpful when Raditz is retreating or trying to dodge. However, Goku’s Solar Flare ability isn’t particularly effective in this fight, so focus more on physical combos and power attacks. If you succeed, then you unlock an alternate story path.

If you fight alongside Piccolo, you will need to defeat Raditz in under 1 minute and 30 seconds to unlock the alternate storyline. Use Piccolo’s distractions as opportunities to charge Ki or activate Sparking Mode. The battle will follow the canon route if you take too long to defeat Raditz and Piccolo will have no other option but to kill both Raditz and Goku together.
Make sure your difficulty is set to Normal or higher. Alternate story branches can only be unlocked on Normal difficulty or above, so check your settings on the Episode Battle page. If you find the battle too challenging, you can use the Dragon Orb to lower the difficulty of specific challenges, making it easy to defeat Raditz in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero while still unlocking the alternate path.
