You can encounter Roger the Libertarian while traveling to the Tomb of Lament dungeon after the in-game date of 7/23. He is a mini-boss whom you can dispatch quite easily.
Roger will challenge you alongside two of his lackeys, and each will have unique elemental affinities. Let's look at everything you will need to learn to defeat Roger the Libertarian in Metaphor ReFantazio.
Archetypes
- Mage
- Knight
- Thief
- Healer/ Faker/ Brawler
These are the core Archetypes in Metaphor ReFantazio you should bring in this particular battle. You will need Dark spells to deal with Roger himself, while his allies are susceptible to Fire and Pierce. Mage will have the Bot (fire) spell, and Knight can deal Pierce damage with its Synthesis Skill and Normal Attacks.
Assassin has the Mudo (Dark) spell which can dispatch Roger. For your fourth slot, you can use Brawler, Healer, or Faker, depending on what you have unlocked.
Recommended equipment

The Boss fight
The fight against Roger is quite simple. You can target him with the Mudoon spell from Thief, the Paripus to Roger's left is weak to Fire (Bot), and his mage is weak to Pierce.
Roger will use various skills to debuff you and your allies. Use the Dekunda spell (Healer lineage) to remove debuffs from your party. Roger and his allies can also incur heavy damage at the start of the round from the Bombardier skill if you have Neuras' follower level at Rank 2.
