How to unlock Tenebrous Papilla Type I boss in Genshin Impact

Tenebrous Papilla Type I is a new boss in Genshin Impact. It is located in an underground cavern in the Quahuacna Cliff, west of Huitizli Hill. It is a unique enemy type affected by Abyssal contamination, allowing it to mimic other world bosses in the game. As of this writing, only Chasca requires the level-up material dropped by Tenebrous Papilla Type I.

Genshin Impact Tenebrous Papilla Type I boss location guide

Before you look for the Tenebrous Papilla Type I in Genshin Impact, unlock the Statue of The Seven in Flower-Feathered Clan and light up the map. This will make it easier to navigate.

Start by following the road heading northwest of the Stadium of the Sacred Flame and unlock the teleport waypoint. Once that is done, go west to unlock the Statue of The Seven.

After you've unlocked the Statue, head north to find a large cave entrance near the river and enter it. Keep moving ahead until you see the Tenebrous Papilla Type I boss.

Tips to defeat Tenebrous Papilla Type I boss

You can use brute force to defeat Tenebrous Papilla Type I quickly. However, the boss can summon protective Void Wards (violet gauge below the HP bar) to defend itself during the battle. You can use different Elemental Reactions to break its defense. Nightsoul-aligned Elemental Attacks are especially effective against the Void Wards.

At any rate, breaking these Void Wards will stun Tenebrous Papilla Type I for a brief period. You can use this opportunity to unleash your best attacks and defeat the boss.
