Is Lighter worth pulling in Zenless Zone Zero 1.3?

Amid the myriad agents awaiting an official release in Zenless Zone Zero, Lighter stands out for his unique design and specialized skill sets. He is confirmed to be an S-Rank Stun character hailing from the Fire roster, which already has some of the strongest entities in the game. As such, fans would want to know if Lighter can live up to the expectations.

In this article, we will break down Lighter's kit to determine his pull value in Zenless Zone Zero 1.3.

Exploring Lighter’s pull value in Zenless Zone Zero 1.3

The core elements of Lighter’s kit were unveiled via the Zenless Zone Zero 1.3 livestream and an official infographic. He specializes in the Stun fighting style, so his primary role during combat will be to stagger enemies and assist teammates with functional buffs.

Here are some of the notable aspects of Lighter’s kit in ZZZ:

  • Lighter performs up to five forward strikes dealing Physical and Fire DMG.
  • Pressing the Basic Attack repeatedly or holding it during the third and fifth hits of the jabs will extend the combo.
  • He takes less damage during the fifth hit of the Basic Attack. He also gains extra DMG reduction and Anti-Interruption, while in Morale Burst state.
  • Upon activating Lighter’s Special Attack and EX Special Attack, he launches a strong uppercut on enemies, dealing Fire DMG. He can recast the EX Special Attack to unleash a follow-up attack.
  • Lighter can activate his Ultimate to launch a powerful strike in a large AoE, dealing massive Fire DMG.

Here are Lighter’s Core Passive and additional ability in Zenless Zone Zero:

  • Core Passive: Lighter gains Morale over time, and recovers more for each point of Energy consumed. He activates a Quick Assist, upon restoring a certain amount of Morale. Launching the fifth hit of his Basic Attack at the same time will let Lighter enter Morale Burst state. While in his empowered state, hitting an enemy with the fifth jab will reduce their Ice and Fire Resistance. At this point, some Morale can be spent to let him follow up with a powerful finishing move.
  • Additional ability: This skill activates when a character in the team belongs to the Attack specialty or the same faction. Using the additional ability, Lighter can increase the Fire and Ice DMG of the entire squad by performing the fifth hit of his Basic Attack. The Elation effect stacks up to 20 times.

Lighter’s pull value

Lighter is shaping up to be a powerful S-Rank unit in Zenless Zone Zero that will synergize with most Attack agents from the Ice and Fire roster. Considering how simple it is to trigger his additional ability, he should be able to significantly improve the damage output of his allies. Lighter's support potential outweighs his Stun specialization, as you would want to use him frequently in between to stack the Elation effect.

While Lighter may not have a place in the current Anomaly-dominated meta, he could be a good future investment. Besides, you can always use him as a typical Stun agent to stagger enemies.

Lighter is worth summoning in the Zenless Zone Zero 1.3 update as long as you have strong Fire or Ice DPS to pair with him. Otherwise, you can save up your resources to obtain the upcoming characters. His lack of synergy with Anomaly units further limits his potential as a support.

Fortunately, Lighter specializes in the Stun fighting style, so you can use him to quickly fill an enemy’s Daze gauge. Needless to say, Lighter's dedication to the Fire and Ice elements affects his pull value.
