Is Unknown 9 Awakening on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch?
Unknown 9 Awakening is finally here, but do the last-generation devices get a piece of the pie? Current trends are indicative of developers slowly but surely moving away from PS4 and Xbox One ports, as well as versions that skirt Nintendo's hybrid console. Of course, there are outliers so each launch must be treated on a case-by-case basis.
Now that developer Reflector Entertainment's anticipated occult action-adventure game is here, can most gaming demographics check it out? While we have good news for PlayStation and Xbox fans, Nintendo fans are not as lucky. Here's everything to know about Unknown 9 Awakening.

Can you play Unknown 9 Awakening on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch platforms?
The game is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S systems. As such, PS4 and Xbox One owners have nothing to worry about as they will be able to enjoy the game on launch day. Despite running on decade-old hardware, the project's Unreal Engine 4 roots should ensure it will scale reasonably well to last-gen tech.
On the flip side, there is no word on a Nintendo Switch version. Fans of Nintendo's portable console will be missing out on protagonist Haroona's supernatural adventures across 19th-century Kolkata in pursuit of vengeance as she strengthens her magical Umbral powers. Accomplished ports such as Hogwarts Legacy have shown that the hybrid device is no slouch and should not be underestimated, so a port should work on paper.
However, we do not know if it will happen, if at all, in the future. Assuming the game sells well and there is demand for a port, there could be a possibility; still, there are higher chances of the title arriving on the hotly anticipated next-gen Nintendo Switch 2 console. This is not just because of the more advanced hardware that should make a port easier, but also since fans will be greeted by a more visually appealing and performant game.
