Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PC might have just confirmed the fate of the leaked DLCs

While fans still hold out for more Marvel's Spider-Man 2 content, PlayStation recently squashed those rumors and by proxy, all hope as well. In a blog post talking about the game's upcoming PC port, Insomniac Games' senior community manager Aaron Jason Espinoza revealed that 2023's open-world superhero game has no extra story content planned for the pipeline.

This means that any past leaks alluding to future DLC content can be put to rest in their grave, much to fan dismay. Here is all to know about the fate of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 DLCs.

Speaking in the blog post, here is what Esponiza said while touching upon content that newcomers to the upcoming PC port of the acclaimed 2023 PS5 game can expect:

"Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a continuation of our Peter Parker and Miles Morales story featuring iconic foes such as Venom and Kraven, as well as many returning favorites. We introduced all-new abilities and traversal options such as Symbiote Surge and Web Wings, and we’ve also expanded Marvel’s New York with new boroughs and side missions to explore."

He continues, finally touching on the state of any Marvel's Spider-Man 2 DLC content:

"While we have no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re delighted to bring all of our previously released post-launch content to the PC version, including New Game+, new suits and color variants, Photo Mode features, and more."

After the success of "The City That Never Sleeps" DLC for the original Marvel's Spider-Man remastered, fans had hoped Insomniac Games would similarly treat them with the full-blown sequel. This fire of hope within the community was stocked further following the leak of some DLC content in 2023.

Alas, it has been two years since the original PS5 launch of the sequel game and that rumor, with no new story content in sight - this should have been a signal for fans that they need not keep their fingers crossed anymore. That said, newcomers still have a massive journey to experience when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 arrives on PC on January 30, 2025.
