Metaphor ReFantazio Basilio guide: How to unlock, bond ranks, and abilities
Metaphor ReFantazio is the newest RPG from Atlus and Sega, the creators of the Persona series. The title implements popular RPG elements such as side quests and party management. The game takes players through the detailed campaign of the game by navigating through the vast and detailed open world of the fictional United Kingdom of Euchronia.
One of the popular aspects of the title is progressing through various ranks with the different party members, who can all be leveled up to unlock additional bonuses and benefits. Below is a guide on how to unlock Basilio's ranks in Metaphor ReFantazio.
Unlock criteria for Basilio in Metaphor ReFantazio
Basilio can be unlocked after the Opera House dungeon in Altabury Heights has been completed. Succeeding this, select any side quest that requires a trip on the Gauntlet Runner, and in it, Basilio can be approached. Conversing with him aboard the Gauntlet Runner unlocks his Bond.

Basilio bond rank unlock criteria and bond abilities in Metaphor ReFantazio
Conversing with Basilio is the only way to proceed forth with unlocking Basilio's Bond ranks. The rank unlock criteria and rewards for Basilio are mentioned below:
Rank 1: Unlocked after conversing with Basilio aboard the Gauntlet Runner. Unlocks the Berserker Archetype for the party to study.
Rank 2: Unlocked by speaking with Basilio in Grand Trad. Unlocks Berserker Enlightenment, which reduces the MAG cost of studying the Berserker Lineage. Also unlocks Beast-Scent Adept, increasing evasion when a beast or human monster attacks Basilio.
Rank 3: Unlocked by speaking with Basilio aboard the Gauntlet Runner. Unlocks Scion’s Skill, which increases the inheritance slots to two, and Battle Aura, which increases EXP gain if he is a reserve.
Rank 4: Unlocked by speaking with Basilio on a free day. Unlocks Berserker Veneration, which reduces the MAG cost of studying the Berserker Lineage even further.
Rank 5: Unlocked by speaking with Basilio in Grand Trad. Unlocks Scion's Merit (Berserker), increasing skill inheritance slots for the Berserker Lineage to 3.
Rank 6: Unlocked by speaking with Basilio in Grand Trad, and requires Imagination Level 5. Unlocks Berserker Archetype: Elite, allowing the party to study the Destroyer.
Rank 7: Unlocked by speaking with Basilio on a free day. Unlocks Battle Hypnosis, which increases the EXP gain rate to the normal rate if he is a reserve.
Rank 8: Unlocked after completing "A Brother's Mercy" quest and having Eloquence at Level 5. There are three rewards for unlocking Rank 8:
- Scion's Essence (Berserker), which increases the inheritance slots to four
- Beast's Insight, increases evasion when Basilio is attacked by a beast or human monster even further.
- Grand Fantasy, which allows Basilio to acquire a new Heroic Embodiment.
