Metaphor ReFantazio walkthrough: How to complete the Hatching a Plan quest
Hatching a Plan in Metaphor ReFantazio is a side quest you can pick up from the grand town of Martira. Apart from having a deadline, this quest also takes a while since you are tasked with collecting a specific item. This item can be found in the Komero Village, located east of Martira.

How to start the Hatching a Plan quest in Metaphor ReFantazio
- Location: Martira, Thoroughfare Square
- NPC: Gloomy Youth
- In-Game Time Window: June 29 - July 11
To begin the Hatching a Plan quest, you must first progress through the main storyline until you reach the town of Martira. Once in Martira, head to Thoroughfare Square, where you’ll find an NPC called the Gloomy Youth standing by the central fountain. Don’t worry, he is quite hard to miss.

Once you speak to the Gloomy Youth, he explains he's on the verge of losing his job due to a shortage of homing pigeons. He will then ask for your help by requesting a Practical Pigeon Parcel. However, this item isn’t available in Martira, and you will need to travel to Komero Village in the east of Martira, to purchase it. You will also need to get the item before July 11 (in-game date) to avoid failing the quest.
How to complete the Hatching a Plan Quest in Metaphor ReFantazio
Once you’ve accepted the quest, use your Gauntlet Runner to reach Komero Village. Keep in mind that the journey will take a full in-game day. So, make sure you have enough time before July 11 to complete the trip and deliver the parcel. After reaching Komero Village, your next task is to find the Practical Pigeon Parcel. This item is available for purchase in one of the local shops.

Once you locate the shop, check its Key Items section and buy the Practical Pigeon Parcel for 500 Reeve. Once you have the parcel, return to Martira, revisit the Thoroughfare Square, and speak with the Gloomy Youth. Hand over the Practical Pigeon Parcel to him before July 11 to complete the quest successfully.
