Mortal Kombat 11 Rumors: Is Ronda Rousey playing a major character in the upcoming game?
The current WWE Raw Women's Champion is having an incredible run with the company already, quickly climbing to the top of the women's division in less than a year. And now, it seems that she may be adding another impressive feat to her long list of accomplishments.
The Nerd Mag has reported that Ronda Rousey has landed a major voice-over role for Mortal Kombat 11. The multi-time UFC Champion will apparently be voicing MK icon Sonya Blade in the upcoming title.

Rousey is also rumored to be a part of NetherRealm Studios' live stream event taking place on Thursday, January 17th. Blade was vital to the story in the recent revamp of the series, and in Mortal Kombat X she, Johnny Cage, and their daughter Cassie Cage led the charge on stopping the sinister Shinnok from taking over Earthrealm.
While Sonya Blade has been featured heavily in the story mode of both MK 9 and MK X, she has yet to have the same voice actor, with Tricia Helfer taking the role in MK X and Dana Lyn Baron in MK 9.
This also puts some speculation to bed that Sonya wouldn't be featured heavily in Mortal Kombat 11. A leak back in December prior to the release of the trailer at the 2018 Game Awards stated that Blade, along with Johnny Cage, Goro, Kano, Baraka, Melina, and Ferra & Torr would not be playable characters, though that doesn't mean they wouldn't show up in the story.
However, if NetherRealm Studios has gone out of their way to bring the Baddest Woman on the Planet in to fill the role, it wouldn't make sense to see her taken out of the roster line up. And if she's as much of a big-time player in the story mode as she has been in recent games, it would make no sense to make her a nonplayable character.
