In NBA 2K25 Career Mode, known as MyCareer, you create a custom character (known as a Build in the game), set its initial attributes, choose a team, and begin your journey in the NBA. There are subtle story mode-like elements as well, such as cutscenes, and even an option to experience your NBA 2K25 Build's backstory to an extent.

EA FC 25's Player Career Mode lets you set your custom character's Origin Story. It includes options like Great Expectations, Return to Glory, and Climb To the Top; however, they basically dictate how your character starts Career Mode in terms of some initial statistics such as Personality Tiers.

Although it doesn't have cutscenes like its NBA counterpart, that doesn't make a huge difference. The basketball title also has open-world-like elements in the form of The City. EA FC might include an open-world feature in the future, but that isn't a part of it yet.

So, if story mode-like cutscenes and open-world are things you like, NBA 2K25 may seem more attractive. However, if it's just gameplay you care about, both games' Career Modes are worth experiencing.

Payer progression is also gameplay-focused, as you must play and earn Skill Points to upgrade your stats in EA FC 25. In NBA 2K25, you need VC Coins for this purpose. Another crucial point in favor of the EA Sports title is that its Career Mode can be played offline. Doing that isn't possible in the NBA game.

Another great thing about EA FC 25's Career Mode is Manager Career Mode. As suggested by its name, it lets you act as manager for a club of your choice (along with international management opportunities), making signings, training youth players, and striving for success. There are also many more teams, leagues, and competitions, which account for varying experiences.

As far as NBA 2K25 is concerned, it has MyTeam, which is a lot more like Ultimate Team. So, EA FC 25 has that, Manager, as well as Player Career Mode.

NBA 2K25 vs EA FC 25: Final verdict

Both NBA 2K25 and EA FC 25 Career Modes are enjoyable, but the latter offers more variety and convenience in terms of offline play. Therefore, we can consider it the better one.
