Real Madrid vs Barcelona: Which is the better team in EA FC 25?

Real Madrid vs Barcelona is one of the most fiercely competitive fixtures in real-life football, and that is well-reflected in EA FC 25. Both these incredible clubs are coming off strong victories in the UEFA Champions League, Madrid with a 5-2 comeback win over Borussia Dortmund, and Barcelona with a thumping 4-1 triumph over FC Bayern Munich. Moreover, while the Catalonia-based outfit might seem to be in better form at the moment, the dynamics in FC 25 might be a little different since the game relies on player attributes.

In this article, we will look at the two powerhouses of Spanish football, and try to analyze which is the better among them.

Real Madrid uses a 433 setup, while FC Barcelona is laid out in a 4231 formation in EA FC 25. Kylian Mbappe leads the attack for the Los Blancos, with an incredible 97 Pace, 92 Dribbling, and 90 Shooting. His Barcelona counterpart is veteran striker Robert Lewandowski with ratings of 85 Pace, 86 Dribbling, and 88 Shooting.

Flanking Mbappe on the pitch are Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo, both with incredible Pace (95 and 89) and Dribbling (91 and 88) ratings. On the other hand, the Blaugrana do not have wingers in this setup, but wide midfielders in the form of Raphinha and Lamine Yamal. These two are enjoying a great run of form in real life, and while Raphinha is pretty useable in the game with 91 Pace and 86 Dribbling, Yamal is only decent with ratings of 82 in both departments.

When it comes to Player Roles+ and ++ distribution (which is basically how many players are excellent choices for their assigned roles), Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are pretty much balanced.

However, it should be noted that Pedri and Raphinha are not that well-suited for their duties in this setup, which might be interpreted as a tactical drawback. Additionally, Pedri has very average ratings in Defending and Physicality. This is not the case with FC Barcelona's rival.
