“Something needs to go”: players demand nerfs as support legends become overpowered in Apex Legends season 23

Along with the Apex Legends Season 23, various legend and class tweaks have been introduced to players. Following the update, Reddit user u/MouseNotHot made a post on the official Apex Legends subreddit page, claiming that EA is buffing the support legends a little too much. They might be concerned that support legends will take over the meta soon if they receive buffs continuously.

This is insane. You could probably build a brand new character with these passives alone with no ult and tactical and it would still be playable. Something needs to go, and I really want it to be 2x bonus to small meds and shields.

In the original Reddit post, u/MouseNotHot said that players can easily build a different set of characters just with the passives given to the support class legends in Apex Legends Season 23. They further said that these buffs will make them significantly overpowered, and something needs to be removed.

Following the post, a Reddit user u/roboduck34 said that they did not read the patch notes before launching the game and were flabbergasted when seeing shield cells healing twice the amount they should:

"I didn't read patch notes and was SHOCKED my cell healed double. I thought they got rid of gold shield passive for a reason."

u/RangaTheWolf expressed that it will be really hard to push a hostile team who has a knocked down a teammate solely because of the new faster revive with health regeneration passive of the support legends:

“Nah I think the faster revive with hp regen is the problem. If you knock someone with some distance by the time you get there all they have to do is pop a battery and they’re reset. Forget if it’s another support character. Two cells and they’re back to full health.”

Another Apex Legends player u/cmvm1990 stated that the no movement penalty while healing should be a Skirmisher class perk, not a support one. They further claimed that its puzzling to see a gold shield perk as a passive.

“Move at full speed while healing should be a skirmisher perk. The rest of them besides maybe the mobi in the crafter have no place in apex. Maybe MAYBE i could see syringes healing for 1.5x or something like that but free gold armor built in is just baffling.”

Should EA nerf the support legends in Apex Legends season 23 split 2?

The answer to this question is yes, EA should nerf the support legends in the upcoming Apex Legends Season 23 split 2. If you secure a knock on a team and end up pushing them, the faster revive passive for the support legends will come in handy for them. By the time you reach there, they will be ready for a 3v3 fight. Moreover, if you just trade knockdown after knockdown, the support legends will just be reviving their teammates, making it a fight with no solid outcome.

While we can guess that the developers are trying to shake the meta up by introducing these buffs in Apex Legends Season 23. From a neutral perspective, these changes will not be healthy for the title, if they are here to stay. Since the buffs were just released, players may have fun but after a couple of seasons, it will be unbearable.
