Best beginner tips for Strinova players
1) Switch between Agents to find your style
There are 17 Agents in the game, each having their own playstyle and perks. Start with giving all the Agents a try and find what suits you the best. You don't necessarily need to play an aggressive or high-damage character to win the game. Here are some good agents for beginners:
- Ming
- Reiichi
- Maddelena
2) Customize your controls
Never settle on default settings. Keep adjusting the mouse sensitivity and changing the keybindings until you are satisfied. Customizing your controls could significantly improve your gameplay in a competitive title.
3) Understand when to switch
The unique feature of Strinova is Sidestepping, an action that turns your 3D character into 2D and vice versa. If you see other players and try to learn the right timing of Sidestepping, you will be ahead of the majority of the players.
4) Learn the callouts
Whether it's Strinova or any other tactical game, learning the locations on the map and giving the right callouts always helps. If you start learning the calls and important map POIs (points of interest) from the beginning, it will help you and your teammates.

5) Mastering weapons
Take your time and use all the weapons at least once to understand them. Be patient and slowly find what works best for you. Additionally, note that the weapon skin rarity does not provide any competitive advantages.
6) Explore the game modes
Explore and try all the game modes and you might learn something new out of everything. Here are the game modes currently available in Strinova:
- Demolition: A 5v5 match between Attackers and Defenders. The Attackers have to plant the bomb and defend it until it explodes.
- Escort: Overwatch-inspired 5v5 game mode in which teams try to push the payload to the opposite side's finish line.
- Team Arena: A deathmatch between two teams of 7 players each. The first team to get 50 eliminations wins. Can't use any abilities.
- Team Deathmatch: A deathmatch between three teams of 5 players each. The first team to get 50 eliminations wins. Can use character active abilities.
7) Understand wall-sticking
The wall-sticking feature allows your character to traverse surfaces while being in the 2D form. Understanding when to switch and where it will be effective early on can significantly help you during high ELO matches. It is to be noted that not all walls have the feature to stick, so explore the map and memorize the areas.
8) Learn how to glide
When you jump, you can also glide in the air to dodge bullets and confuse the enemies. It is a highly effective tactic at high ground and learning the right time to glide could be very helpful. You can also catch the enemy by surprise by dropping into their base after gliding.
9) Switching the aim modes
Spectate others or watch streamers online to see when you should switch the aim modes. There are three types of aiming modes in Strinova: Hipfire, shoulder aim, and ADS (Aim Down Sights). Each mode has its strengths depending on the situation.
10) Using the minimap
The minimap in Strinova is essential to track enemies and stay aware, just like any other competitive shooter. The enemies have red dots on the map when anyone sees them. Frequently checking the minimap helps you stay prepared for an attack and to communicate with teammates.
11) Aim practice
Any competitive game requires good shooting. Use external practice tools like Aim Labs to master your aim and see what sensitivity fits the best. Be patient as perfecting your aim could take hundreds of hours.
