Everything that fans need to know about Firebreak
Firebreak will be a three-player co-op first-person shooter. Being a Remedy game, expect a well-written premise. Based on what has been revealed, the FBC is under siege from otherworldly forces and only the Firebreak unit is capable of containing this threat.
This sets the game's premise, where this special unit will take on various enemies and infiltrate the FBC to rid it of the infestation.
It is a complete PvE experience, meaning that players will be fighting AI enemies. They must take on missions throughout the FBC, completing various objectives, and taking the fight back to these "otherworldly" entities, forcing them out of the Bureau.
Players will be able to customize their kits before heading into a mission with different equipment, tools, and paranatural augments, which will give each character in the team unique abilities.
During these missions, players are certain to encounter a varied set of enemies, and boss fights, and will be tasked with defusing "strange and dangerous crises at their source."
Diving in, expect stunning visuals, immersive audio, and a unique take on gunplay like never before seen in a Remedy game.
Since it is a co-op game, one would expect to team up only with their friends. But Remedy has made it clear that Firebreak will allow players to form squads with strangers, as they take on the paranormal forces at the FBC.
At launch, the title will be available on Xbox Series X and S, and on Windows PC, and will support crossplay right out of the box. Additionally, it will get a day one launch on the Xbox Game Pass.
No news of a PlayStation launch is known at the moment. As for the release date, it is not known for certain as well. However, developers have mentioned that it will be released sometime in 2025.
Being Remedy's first multiplayer game, fans of the studio are certainly elated at the prospects. Their previous titles have been hit among gamers and critics alike. With their foray into the co-op multiplayer experience, fans are expecting another banger.
