What is the monster in A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead?
Stormind Games' A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead offers an immersive survival experience for gamers. Based on the critically acclaimed A Quiet Place movie franchise, the game, just like in the films, puts the players into a world where silence is the key to their survival.
Mirroring the hauntingly quiet elements of the movies, the game also has a new innovative microphone noise detection system feature that allows the game to respond to real-world sounds made by the player.
However, in this article, we look into the game's primary antagonist, the monster.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead monster explained
The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting centering around the role of a young pregnant woman who must avoid alien creatures in the game known as Monsters or death angels in the movies to survive. The death angels have been central to the horror and suspense in the A Quiet Place film franchise, and their menacing presence continues in this single-player horror adventure.
They are extraterrestrial predators that invaded Earth and are blessed with superior hunting powers. These creatures are blind but possess extraordinary hearing, allowing them to detect even the faintest noise from miles away. Their entire existence revolves around sound, proving how crucial silence is for survival in the game.
By appearance, they are Insect-like creatures with thick exoskeletal armor that renders them nearly resistant to conventional weapons. However, they have a vulnerable spot in the form of a fleshy section in their heads, which wide opens whenever they detect any kind of sound.

Their behavior in the game is similar to their movie counterparts, always patrolling the world searching for any kind of sound that can reveal the player’s location. Upon hearing something, they move with frightening speed, tearing through obstacles to reach their prey.
While they react very dangerously to any type of sound, this very characteristic can also be used to your advantage. Distracting them with thrown objects or triggering environmental sounds can lure the monsters away from critical paths.

Additionally, if the microphone noise detection feature is enabled, the connected microphone detects noise from your surroundings, and these creatures will react accordingly, meaning if you speak or make noise, they can hunt you down in the game.
