What is Scenery Rating in Planet Coaster 2 and how to improve it

The successor to 2016's Planet Coaster, Planet Coaster 2 was recently released onto the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S consoles. Developed by Frontier Games, the title once again brings to players the challenge of creating and running a theme park of their choice. As is customary for the series, the only way a park can be successful is if guests are visiting it.

A very important stat that contributes to the overall Park Rating metric is the value of the Scenery Rating. This is dependent on the amount of visuals and decorations scattered around the park. Below is everything you need to know about Scenery Rating and the methods that can be used to increase it.

Scenery Rating in Planet Coaster 2

In the game, Scenery Rating is increased by the number of decorations in and around the park's main attractions. Each item or attraction thus placed will have its own Scenery Score. All of these combine to make up the overall Scenery Rating for the park.

However, the score only goes up when guests are able to see the objects. Thus, simply placing new attractions or objects in random places will not affect the overall score by much. For instance, having a large amount of nice trees in a corner of the park where guests will be unable to see them will do little to nothing to increase the Scenery Rating.

Each item is scored independently, and some might even have a negative rating. These include areas such as generators and staff areas being visible to the guests. Try to organize the park in a way such that these kinds of objects are far away or well hidden from guests.

The most ideal way to increase scenery rating in the game involves decorating the rides with more scenic objects. Add specific elements and matching decorations to rides to increase their overall Scenery Rating. This can also help attract more guests towards the rides, which are now better decorated.

Additionally, decorate the walking paths to further increase the scenery rating. Simply adding multiple objects along the guest walking paths can also help improve Scenery score, although at the cost of the park looking visually drab.
