Wuthering Waves 2.0 livestream summary: New characters, Rinascita, release date, redeem codes, and more

The Wuthering Waves 2.0 livestream finally gave us an in-depth look at the upcoming chapter of the Rover's journey, the city of Rinascita. This update is shaping up to be the biggest patch for the game yet, with the introduction of a major region, new characters, and echo sets among other things. Wuthering Waves version 2.0 will be released on January 2, 2025.

Wuthering Waves 2.0 livestream overview

New Characters

Kuro Games previously announced that both Roccia and Carlotta will be playable, becoming the first two characters hailing from Rinascita to join the roster. Carlotta will be a Pistol user, while Roccia will use Gauntlets on the battlefield.

Kuro Games announced a set of new weapons that will be making its way to the game during version 2.0:

Call of the Abyss - Rectifier (4-star)

Banners

Wuthering Waves version 2.0 will be divided into two phases.

Phase 1

5-star: Carlotta, Zhezhi
4-stars: Chixia, Sanhua, Mortefi

Phase 2

5-star: Jinhsi, Roccia
4-stars: Youhu, Danjin, Yuanwu

Additionally, each of the 5-star resonators will receive a corresponding banner for their signature weapons.

New Story

Rinascita's main story mission will witness the political unfolding behind the Carnevale celebrations, with the Rover arriving in the city and getting involved in the affairs. Several key characters like Brant, Roccia, Carlotta, and Phoebe in Wuthering Waves will appear during the narrative.

Besides the main story and a set of side quests, we will also receive the companion missions for Carlotta and Roccia during the Wuthering Waves 2.0 update.

New Region

The upcoming region of Rinascita will be quite different than Jinzhou City and its surrounding areas. During the Wuthering Waves 2.0 livestream, the developers claimed that the Ragunna will have a total of eight available locales for you to explore in the upcoming update.

New Echoes

A set of new echoes was showcased during the Special Program for the Wuthering Waves 2.0 update. Some of these can be obtained by defeating overworld enemies and bosses.

The developers also stated that these echoes will come with new Sonata Effects in Wuthering Waves.

Events

Dances for Springs Return will be the flagship event of the upcoming update, as was announced during the Wuthering Waves 2.0 livestream. Besides in-game resources like Shell Credits, you will also receive the upcoming outfit for Sanhua for free by completing certain missions during this event.

Kuro Games is finally bringing costumes to Wuthering Waves in the upcoming update. Sanhua and Jinhsi will receive new outfits during the Spring Festival celebrations in Jinzhou.

Jinhsi's upcoming outfit is a premium skin, and it comes with a few added benefits such as a themed Sigil, Character Icon, and Weapon Effects. Sanhua's Exorcistic Adjuration outfit can be earned for free for a limited time during the upcoming update.

Redemption Codes

Kuro Games revealed three redemption codes during the Wuthering Waves 2.0 livestream, that offer various in-game rewards.

The Wuthering Waves 2.0 livestream saw Kuro Games give us a list of QoL updates that will be introduced with the new update.

The "Next Stop: Rinascita" feature will allow you to directly start your adventure in the new region once you finish Chapter 1 Act 3.
The "Boss Challenges Early Access" feature allows you to farm Ascension Materials from enemy bosses using your Guidebook or Upgrade Panel.
You will be able to switch the gender of your Rover.
The "Synthesis at your go" feature allows you to perform material synthesis from the pause menu.
The new conversion feature allows you to convert certain materials to other items.
The new Immersion Mode will hide the game's UI.
A new feature called the "Archive of Melodies" will allow you to listen to the various OSTs of the game.
