Yakuza Kiwami: How to find all MesuKing cards

Yakuza Kiwami features a mini-game known as MesuKing - a Rock Paper Scissors-style game you play in the SEGA arcades. Featuring scantily-clad Joshi (female wrestlers), depending on what you bring to the match, you can have them perform a variety of powerful moves. However, you’re only as good as the collection you can put together. Once you’ve begun the side quest to begin this mini-game, you’ll start seeing the cards scattered throughout Kamurocho.

Now that Yakuza Kiwami is on the Nintendo Switch, you can take your MesuKing collection on the go with you as well. Regardless of what platform you’re playing on, all of these locations are the exact same. Here’s what you need to know about collecting these cards for this fascinating mini-game.

For the most part, it’s incredibly easy to find all of the MesuKing cards in Yakuza Kiwami. The only real frustrating part is that they are scattered all throughout the city of Kaurocho - with a few hidden down in Purgatory.

Once you’ve unlocked the MesuKing mini-game, you can begin unlocking virtually all of these cards. Some will require you to have certain Substories completed - these typically involve dealing with playing MesuKing against the other kids who are obsessed with the game.

Other cards will be unlockable via buying them from shops - such as the Pawn Shop, and the Purgatory Weapon Shop. These can be done as soon as you have access to these shops in-game. It will take a little bit of time to get every single card, but it’s worth having them to rack up more Collection Points - and to have a bigger collection when you battle the Professor.

One of the best parts of the MesuKing game in Yakuza Kiwami is that you can collect well over half the cards before you even play a single game at the arcade. When I unlocked this mini-game in Chapter 4, that’s the first thing I did.

I ran around town grabbing every single card I could. A few of them are annoying, though. Saw-Toothed Stag Beetle - the one near the Club Lime sign - is only difficult to get because interacting with it is touchy.

Another card that can be frustrating to grab is Old World Swallowtalk. You find it between a pair of buildings on Nakamichi St. It’s in a tiny alley, and you need to hit First-person mode and look down at it.

Yakuza Kiwami is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and now the Nintendo Switch. You can learn more about the Switch port in our in-depth review.
