2024 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: What is the weather forecast this weekend?
F1 will return to the Yas Marina Circuit to host the season finale for an exciting 2024 season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend. The track has been hosting races since the 2009 season and has produced several epic conclusions to championships over the years.
Heading into the 2024 edition, while the driver's championship has already been secured by Max Verstappen in Las Vegas, there is still a fight for the constructor's championship between McLaren and Ferrari.
The Woking-based outfit, who last won the title in 1998, has a lead of 21 points over the Italian team, who are in a similar predicament, as they last won a championship in 2008. The modified layout of the Yas Marina Circuit will potentially suit Ferrari given the two chicanes before the straights had been removed in 2021.

Alpine F1 drops a bombshell ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Alpine F1 revealed that Esteban Ocon would be leaving the team before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and will be replaced by Jack Doohan who was earlier going to drive for the team in the 2025 season.
In their statement, the French manufacturer said (via F1.com):
“BWT Alpine Formula One Team announces that Reserve Driver Jack Doohan will race in the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in place of Esteban Ocon. The change allows Esteban to be released to Haas to drive in the post-season test in Abu Dhabi.
"Jack, who has already been announced as an official driver for the 2025 season alongside Pierre Gasly, will race with the #61 as his registered Reserve Driver number and will also participate in the end-of-season test for the team at the Yas Marina Circuit. The team would like to thank Esteban for his time at the team and he will remain part of the team’s history achieving the first win for Alpine in Formula 1. We wish Esteban the best for the future.”
Ocon, who had been with the team since the 2020 season, had already signed a contract with Haas F1 for the 2025 season and had failed to complete a lap in his final race with the team at Qatar GP last weekend.
The French driver would be sitting out the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix given that both Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg would be driving for the Haas F1 team one last time
