"4 in a row": Kelly Piquet shares social media post with Max Verstappen at the FIA gala

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen's girlfriend Kelly Piquet shared a post with the Dutchman at the recent FIA gala in Rwanda. It has been yet another remarkable season executed by the Dutch driver, as he claimed his fourth consecutive driver's championship in 2024.

The 27-year-old started the season where he left off in 2023, as he won four of the first five races and another three in the next five outings. However, he failed to win any other in the next 10 as his RB20 lost performance in comparison to their rivals.

Verstappen hung on during the mid-season slump of the Austrian team, as he had to fend off the challenge from rising Lando Norris of McLaren. Despite not having the fastest car on the grid, he managed to pull off some remarkable performances to minimize the points to the British driver.

Max Verstappen's resistance paid off, as he was able to win two of the final four races and wrap up the title in Las Vegas with three races remaining. On her social media platform, Instagram, Kelly Piquet posted a series of pictures from the FIA Gala with the Red Bull driver and wrote a concise caption, saying:

Max Verstappen analyzes his 2024 triumph at the FIA Gala

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen stated that he experienced an "up and down" championship campaign in 2024 given his excellent start and a tense middle part of the year.

As per F1.com, at the FIA Gala, the four-time F1 world champion said:

“This season as you could see was quite up and down. We had a great start to the year, everything was looking great. I think especially from the outside, of course, as a team you always understand your limitations and what you want to work on.
“We had a bit of a tough run in the middle of the season but even when we were under pressure, and having tough times, I think the team really stuck together. We didn’t panic, which could easily be done I think in those kinds of situations."

Verstappen further mentioned that he was expecting a "proper battle" in the 2025 season given the competitive nature of 2024, where four teams and even different drivers took multiple race wins, adding:

"I tried my very best and we also know a lot what we have to work on for next year. I’m very excited about that as well because it does look like it’s going to be a proper fight between a lot of teams.”

Max Verstappen would have a shot of becoming only the second driver after Michael Schumacher to win five consecutive driver's championships and the first to win his first five in a row.
