“5 long years (of torture)”: Alex Albon’s girlfriend Muni 'Lily' He celebrates dating anniversary with a cheeky jibe at her F1 partner
Alex Albon's girlfriend, Muni "Lily" He, recently posted a picture of flowers with a hilarious caption while celebrating her and Albon's fifth anniversary of their relationship. The two started dating back in 2019, when Alex Albon recently entered F1 and was promoted to Red Bull.
During that time, Netflix's series, Drive to Survive, was gaining a lot of popularity. Lily watched the Thai driver and started connecting with him on social media like Instagram. From there, they formed a deep bond with one another and got together.
In her recent Instagram stories, she posted a picture of a flower bouquet with a letter attached. In the caption, Lily hilariously wrote that it was five long years of torture with the F1 driver. However, she put the words 'of torture' in closed brackets. After this hilarious line, she then wrote that she was joking and expressed her love towards Albon.
"5 longgg years (of torture). jk ily @alex_albon" Lily wrote.
Lily is a professional golfer who takes part in the LPGA Tour in the US. She started playing golf at the age of five and started competing in junior tournaments. Her family moved to the west where she went to high school and further moved up in her golfing career. The 25-year-old joined the LPGA Tour in the same year Alex Albon entered F1, which was 2019.
Albon had a tumultuous F1 stint in the early days, especially with Red Bull. He was removed by the team in 2020 since he was unable to keep up with Max Verstappen. He then went away from F1 and competed in DTM. In 2022, he returned to F1 with Williams and aimed to push the legendary British team back to the top of the grid.
Alex Albon dismisses claims of Red Bull making cars tailored to Max Verstappen
Alex Albon recently debunked the rumors that Red Bull have always made their cars tailored to Max Verstappen. In an interview with Motorsport Total, the Thai said that the team tried their best to make him comfortable in the car. He also gave examples of other drivers who struggled to get a proper feel for the car when they switched teams.
“[Red Bull] thought about how they could help me to feel more comfortable in the car. Other drivers who have gone through difficult phases in their careers, like Daniel [Ricciardo] at McLaren, found it difficult to feel comfortable in the car, so we tried to make me feel comfortable in the Red Bull."
He added:
“Somehow that never really worked out. With the knowledge I have today, I could have managed that. But it’s easy to talk in hindsight.”
As of now, Alex Albon drives for Williams and has scored only 12 points in the 2024 F1 drivers' championship.
