"Baby champagne for both of us": Max Verstappen's partner Kelly Piquet shares birthday celebrations with Penelope Kvyat
Max Verstappen's girlfriend Kelly Piquet happened to have her birthday on the same day as the Abu Dhabi GP. Both Kelly Piquet and her daughter Penelope attended the race. The Brazilian model also posted multiple pictures from the race weekend on her Instagram including pictures from her birthday celebrations with her daughter.
Penelope organized a birthday surprise for her mother after the Abu Dhabi GP and her mother was elated, to say the least as she posted an Instagram story of the same. Helium balloons with pictures of Verstappen and Piquet hanging off the strings and an inflated 'Happy Birthday' balloon were set up in the room. The picture had the model sitting on the bed with Penelope jumping around. The caption read:
“Penelope organized a birthday surprise for me and it was the best thing ever.”
The very next story was a picture of Kelly hugging her daughter with the caption, “You are one of a kind my P”. The final story from the birthday surprise was of Max Verstappen's girlfriend and Penelope sipping on some champagne. The caption read:
“Baby Champagne for both of us”
Baby champagne is a light sparkling Perry with about 6 percent ABV. However, in this case, it might be the fact that Kelly Piquet and Penelope are celebrating the baby that's on the way. The Brazilian model recently announced her pregnancy by posting a picture with Max Verstappen on her Instagram.
In the pictures from the birthday celebrations, Kelly Piquet can be seen wearing an elegant maroon dress, while Penelope is in the same white overalls from the track with a pink jacket as the top layer. Piquet arguably got ready to go out with her friends, as the next set of photos included the model in the same dress with her friends at a restaurant.

Max Verstappen won the World Championship in Las Vegas but Piquet wasn't present at the race. So his whole family made sure to attend the next race in Qatar. Verstappen's mother Sophie Kumpen, sister Victoria Jane Verstappen, girlfriend Kelly Piquet, and Victoria's boyfriend Tom Heuts were in attendance for the race at the Lusail International Circuit.
Afterward, Kelly uploaded a picture on her Instagram story where the whole family took a selfie as they gathered around for the podium celebrations. The selfie was taken by Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner and the caption read:
“Podium Selfie”.
Max Verstappen’s partner also attended the race before the Las Vegas GP, i.e. the Brazilian GP. Notably, Brazil happens to be Piquet’s home country. The Dutchman displayed a champion-worthy performance in the race despite the treacherous wet conditions. Verstappen started outside the Top 10 but made his way through the field and won the race.
