Brad Pitt sent Ferrari star Carlos Sainz a “hand-written apology letter”, find out why
Carlos Sainz recently revealed why Brad Pitt sent a handwritten apology letter to him after the 2024 F1 season ended. He explained that it was related to the official team photo for Ferrari.
After every F1 season, each team clicks an official group picture where every team member, team principal, and driver is present. The picture also consists of both the cars that raced throughout the year. This year was no different as Ferrari did the same with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
While the group picture was being taken, Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, who star in an upcoming F1 film, photobombed the picture by standing behind Leclerc and Sainz.
Following the 2024 F1 Abu Dhabi, Carlos Sainz's official YouTube channel released a recap and behind-the-scenes footage of the Spaniard's weekend at Yas Marina. During a walk in the paddock, Sainz revealed that Brad Pitt sent a handwritten apology letter to him for photobombing the group picture. Sainz said that the American actor might have thought that it was an official group picture of the team and also a farewell picture.
However, Sainz added that Brad Pitt had nothing to be sorry about and was thrilled to have a picture with the team and Pitt.
"Poor Brad, Prad Pitt came to our team picture yesterday. He joined in the team photo. Today he sent me a handwritten letter apologizing because he thought it was just a normal photobomb and he thought the photo was also for my farewell, but it was not, so he did not need to apologise. He did not do anything wrong. In fact, it's even better. I have a photo with the whole team and Brad Pitt!" Sainz said.
After the 2024 F1 season, Carlos Sainz will be replaced by Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari. The move was decided before the season began, shocking the entire F1 space, including Sainz.
Carlos Sainz "understands" why Ferrari decided to replace him with Lewis Hamilton
Carlos Sainz talked about how he understands why Lewis Hamilton will be replacing him in Ferrari next year.
Speaking on the Beyond the Grid podcast, the Spaniard stated that though he was angry and frustrated to have lost his seat, he quickly understood and moved on. He added that he quickly moved on because he was getting replaced by one of the best F1 drivers to ever grace a track. He praised Hamilton for what he has achieved in the sport.
“I understood it almost right from the beginning. I think if it would have been someone else, I would have taken a lot more longer to understand. But when you understand Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion and one of the best – if not the best in history – is going to replace you as Ferrari. And Lewis has decided to do his last part of his career in Ferrari, and that you need to be one of the two drivers sacrificed for that to happen – I understand,” Sainz said.
After leaving Ferrari, Carlos Sainz will join Williams in 2025. He has already taken part in post-season test runs with the British team.
