Charles Leclerc makes his feelings known about how his 2024 F1 season panned out

Charles Leclerc reflected on his 2024 F1 season the FIA awards gala. The Monegasque felt that even though there were some high points during the season, the final result was not satisfactory. He also made his intentions clear for next season which is to compete for both the drivers' championship and the constructors' championship.

The Ferrari driver also went on to comment about his team's battle with McLaren, congratulating the Papayas on what was a fight that lasted until the very last race. The Monaco GP winner also congratulated the Dutchman Max Verstappen on his win in the drivers' championship. Leclerc finished third in the standings, just behind McLaren driver Lando Norris.

Speaking at the FIA awards gala, Charles Leclerc said (via RacingNews365):

"All in all, there were a lot of positive moments in the season, but second or third is not what we want, we want to win,"
"I am very hungry for next year, and obviously the disappointment is still fresh from the last race as we've been fighting with McLaren for that constructors' title until the very last race, but they've just done a better job."

While congratulating the winners of the 2024 season, Charles also took a moment to reflect.

"[Mclaren] fully deserve the title and congratulations to them and to Max, it's been a very long season but I've realized some of my dreams."

Charles Leclerc will continue to race for Ferrari next season, where he will be joined by his new teammate Lewis Hamilton.

While the Ferrari driver made it clear that his and the team's results from the last year weren't what they would've wanted - he also spoke about some moments he enjoyed from the last year, including some memorable wins and getting to do a practice session with his brother, Arthur Leclerc.

Leclerc went on to say (via RacingNews365):

"[T]o be able to win in Monaco was very, very special, as was winning in Monza."

He also added:

"Another dream that was quite unexpected was to be able to drive with my younger brother [Arthur] in Free Practice 1 [in Abu Dhabi] was a very special moment for our family."

The free practice session in Abu Dhabi was the first time that a pair of brothers have driven for the same team in the same Formula 1 session in the history of the sport.
