Damon Hill drops a 4-word reaction to Max Verstappen flipping out in the post-qualifying conference

Former F1 world champion Damon Hill gave a concise reaction to Red Bull driver Max Verstappen flipping out during the post-qualifying press conference after being asked about his penalty points situation ahead of the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix. The Dutch driver pulled off another excellent performance on the track as he was seconds away from securing yet another pole position in the 2025 season before it was snatched away from him by Mercedes driver George Russell.

The four-time F1 world champion had looked like a contender for pole position once again and had the measure of the McLaren duo of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris over a single lap. However, for the second year in a row, the 27-year-old will start behind the Mercedes driver in Montreal.

During the post-qualifying press conference, Max Verstappen was irked for a moment when he was asked about his penalty points situation starting alongside George Russell and said:

"I don’t need to hear it again. It’s really pissing me off. I mean, you were speaking about it on Thursday. It’s such a waste of time. It’s very childish. So, that’s why I also don’t want to say too much because it’s really annoying, this world that we live in."

Damon Hill on his Instagram Story reshared the comments and gave his four-word reaction on the latter's aggressive stance on the subject, stating:

"Don't mention the points."

Max Verstappen previews his chances of winning the Canadian GP

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen stated that the RB21 felt okay in the long run pace, and he was happy with the feeling in the car.

Speaking to the media, the Dutchman previewed his chances of winning the race and said:

"It felt okay yesterday. I mean, I was fairly happy with the car. You just need to look after the tyres. There was a bit of graining for everyone yesterday, so we’ll try to keep that under control for tomorrow, also with the warmer temperatures.
"I think being on the podium, trying to be as competitive as we can be, trying to extract the most out of the car. But I don’t know. We’ll probably find out after the race if we did so. But, yeah, hopefully we can just be good on tire management."

Max Verstappen has already won twice in the 2025 season in Suzuka and Imola and finished second in Jeddah and Melbourne. The Red Bull driver has been dominant around Montreal over the last three years and has won all three times after the sport returned to the iconic track post the COVID-19 pandemic.
