"Donatello. Donut. That’s how Penelope Kvyat calls him": Max Verstappen adorably talks about his new cat

Max Verstappen was recently spotted talking adorably about his new cat, Donatello. He explained how the cat feels at home after the Dutchman got it and that his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet's daughter, Penelope, calls the cat Donut.

A few weeks before winning his fourth consecutive world title, Max Verstappen revealed he got a new cat named Donatello. Kelly Piquet also posted several random pictures on her Instagram account, one of which showed the new member of the Verstappen family lying on the bed and sleeping.

Recently, Max Verstappen was featured on Red Bull's official YouTube channel showcasing his race at the Las Vegas GP and his fourth title win celebrations. Before the race weekend began, Verstappen was walking in the paddock with his assistant. They talked about Donatello and Verstappen revealed that Penelope calls him Donut. He added that the cat has already started sleeping on his bed and won't run from his house.

“Donatello. Donut. That’s how Penelope calls him, it’s a bit easier. He’s very cute, he’s already sleeping in the bed. So, he probably won’t go away anymore!” Verstappen said at 2:45.

Though it is not confirmed how many cats Verstappen currently has, he has expressed he is a massive cat fan on several occasions.

When Max Verstappen shared how he broke a door in his house to rescue his cat

In 2023, Max Verstappen shared how he broke open a door in his house with a hammer to rescue his cat trapped behind it in a closet.

During his eSports team, Redline's Twitch live stream, Verstappen shared a story of how one of his cats was lost for several hours and later found trapped in a closet. The closet door was not opening since a baby bed had fallen on it. The multiple world champion explained how he tried everything to break open the door, including slamming his shoulders on the door multiple times.

Finally, he had to bring out a hammer and punch a hole through the door so that his cat could be rescued.

“I lost one cat for like three or four hours, I didn’t know where it was. I was walking around and suddenly the cat starts meowing behind a door so I was like, ‘Oh dear!’. It was a little closet room so it’s only a one-way entrance. I’m trying to open the door but the door wasn’t want to open because a baby bed had fallen down behind the door in the storage room," Verstappen said. (via Daily Express)
“The door was completely locked because the cat had pushed the bed down. There was no way to open the door. I tried everything so I had to make a lovely hole in the door with a hammer!"

Later on, a clip of the Red Bull driver surfaced on social media where he was seen hammering a door in his house to rescue his beloved pet.
