FIA president makes his feelings known about Red Bull's Christian Horner receiving the honor of CBE
FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem recently congratulated Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner for receiving the honor of Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in England. The Emirati praised Horner for his service in the motorsport industry.
In the 2013 Birthday Honors in England, Christian Horner was appointed as the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his work in motorsport. Fast forward to 2024, he was appointed as CBE in the New Year Honors.
To congratulate Horner, the FIA president published a post on his official Instagram account with two pictures. One was a picture of him with the Red Bull Racing team boss, and the other was the Brit holding the CBE badge after being honored with it.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem praised Christian Horner for his hard work in motorsport, particularly helping F1 reach global standards.
"My congratulations to @christianhorner on receiving the honor of Commander of the British Empire. To have your services to motorsport recognized in this way is a reflection on the many years of effort you have put in to help our sport achieve recognition on the world stage," Sulayem wrote.
Red Bull team boss' emotional message after being honored with CBE status
After receiving the CBE honor, Christian Horner himself posted pictures on Instagram and talked about the honor. The pictures were of him holding the CBE badge with his wife, Geri Halliwell, by his side.
In the caption, he wrote about receiving the honor from British Empire's King Charles III. He then talked about Red Bull Racing's achievements over the years and how the team also uplifted the small town of Milton Keynes and industrialized it. He then thanked his family and all the team members working in Red Bull Racing factories to keep pushing his team forward.
"I am humbled and delighted to receive the honour of Commander of the British Empire by his Majesty the King at Buckingham Palace for services to Motorsport. Over 20 years of @RedBullRacing we have achieved an unprecedented success with 8 Drivers’ Championships, 6 Constructors’ Championships, 122 wins and with it brought industry to the City of Milton Keynes with our Red Bull Technology Campus," Horner wrote.
"This distinction would not be possible without the love and support of my family and the tremendous hard work that everyone continues to deliver back at the factory in Milton Keynes. Thank you," he added.
Christian Horner has been working in Red Bull Racing ever since the team was created back in 2005. He was appointed as the head of the team, becoming the youngest team principal at the time. Since then, he has led the team to a total of six constructors' championships and eight drivers' championships, shared by Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen equally.
