"I'm going soon": Lewis Hamilton desperate to visit his F1 idol's home country

Lewis Hamilton and his love affair with Brazil are well-known in the world of Formula 1. Hamilton has often openly admitted to seeing the late three-time F1 world champion Ayrton Senna as his idol, and in line with this and the lovely country of Brazil, he has asserted that he is going to go there soon.

During the 2024 Formula 1 São Paulo Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton paid a special tribute to Ayrton Senna by driving his 1990 McLaren MP4/5B during the race weekend. Whenever the sport visits the country for its events, the outpouring of love toward the Brit is huge.

Hamilton, at the ongoing 2025 Canadian Grand Prix weekend, talked about the South American country and admitted that he is going to visit the country soon.

"I miss Brazil so much. I can't tell you how much, I've been researching online the places to visit. I wanna go soon. I don't wanna say where I'm going but (laughs), I'm going to go soon. Yeah, I miss, I miss seeing Brazilians." Hamilton said.

Lewis Hamilton managed a P10 finish in the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix driving for the Brackley-based Mercedes Formula 1 team.

Lewis Hamilton feels Ferrari's SF-25 has 'no rhythm'

While Lewis Hamilton at the Canadian Grand Prix weekend has admitted to making plans to visit Brazil soon, he had an immensely strong outing in yesterday's qualifying session.

The seven-time world champion was able to put his SF-25 in P5 at the end of Q3, but following the end of the session, he surprisingly deemed the challenger as having 'no rhythm.'

In line with this, he added:

"This car, it’s like someone that can’t dance, and someone that has no rhythm. So it’s like trying to get someone that doesn’t have rhythm to have rhythm. It’s very very difficult. So, that’s how it feels with this car." (via Canal+)

Hamilton further had the following to say:

"I feel we’ve progressed coming into today, so that was a positive."

The 2025 Formula 1 season is nine rounds down, with Round 10 currently ongoing at the picturesque Gilles Villeneuve Racing circuit.

Lewis Hamilton is in sixth place in the drivers' championship standings with 71 points. His Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc, on the other hand, is in P5 with 94 points.

The SF-25 has proved to be a difficult challenger to drive, particularly for Hamilton, and thus, he has, on a few occasions, bashed the handling of the car. With him starting the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix from the third row on the grid, he will eye a podium finish. Andrea Kimi Antonelli (P4), Oscar Piastri (P3), Max Verstappen (P2), and George Russell (P1) will start ahead of him.
