Lewis Hamilton shows off his people skills with special message to fans at F1 Qatar GP

Lewis Hamilton recently conveyed a special message to the fans who came to watch the 2024 F1 Qatar GP. He greeted the crowd support in the grandstands at Lusail with an Arabic word.

Despite not having the best races in the latter half of the 2024 F1 season, Hamilton addressed the fans in Qatar with all his heart before the race. The seven-time world champion only managed to qualify P6 for the Grand Prix after a poor sprint race where he also finished P6.

Speaking right before the Qatar GP, Hamilton gave an interview on the start-finish straight, where he was asked to give a message to fans. To avoid answering aptly, he removed his mic and asked the Arabic interviewer how to say the Arabic word 'Shukraan', which means thank you in English. He then turned to the fans and said the word.

Cheers were instantly heard after the Mercedes star gave the special one-word message to the fans.

"Shukraan!" Hamilton said.

Before that, Hamilton also praised the crowd and the Lusail track. He mentioned that the weather was cooler than last year, which made life easier for drivers.

"Firstly, hi everyone. Its one of the quieter races for us but the weather is usually great. Its a little but cool this weekend compared to last time we were here. But I'm hoping today we get a bit more racing compared to the sprint race. As George mentioned, the track here is amazing and we have got a little bit of a crowd here. The support is growing like every year, so we are grateful," he said.

Lewis Hamilton shared his thoughts after a dull 2024 F1 Qatar GP

Lewis Hamilton suffered quite a lot at the 2024 F1 Qatar GP on Sunday. The seven-time world champion was first handed a five-second time penalty for a false start. Then, he was further penalized for speeding in the pitlane and was asked for a drive through the pitlane.

On top of all this, the Mercedes driver also suffered a puncture during the race from debris that came after Alex Albon's mirror flew from the car and lay on the track. Since there was no safety car to remove the debris, every driver, including Hamilton, was unaware of it and simply went through.

After the race, Hamilton said that he did not want to recall the incidents of the race and would simply try to get back up and perform better in the next race at Abu Dhabi, which will be his last with Mercedes.

"I don't really want to revisit the race. I mean, I'm still standing and its not how you fall, its how you get back up. So I will get back up tomorrow and give it another shot next week," Hamilton said.

Lewis Hamilton is currently seventh in the drivers' championship with 211 points. He will soon depart from Mercedes and join Ferrari in 2025.
