Max Verstappen makes his feelings known on whether he wants a boy or a girl as his first kid with Kelly Piquet

Days after announcing his partner, Kelly Piquet's pregnancy, Max Verstappen shared whether he wants a boy or a girl as his first child in an interview before the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Verstappen and Piquet announced her pregnancy on Friday, the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP Free Practice Day.

The couple took to their social media to share the news with a picture of themselves amid his outing at the final race weekend of the season. Ahead of the race on Sunday, Verstappen had a short conversation with F1 champion Alain Prost. In the interview with Canal +, Prost asked the Dutchman whether he wanted a boy, who replied:

"Of course. But it’s fine, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. Whenever it’s yours it’s always special."

Verstappen and Piquet have been in a romantic relationship since 2020. She was earlier in a relationship with former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat and they are the parents of Penelope, popularly known as P. Piquet is the daughter of F1 champion Nelson Piquet, and the sister of former F1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr.

As Max Verstappen and his partner Kelly Piquet await their child's birth, the Red Bull driver has launched a unique line of baby items on his official website, Verstappen.com, where a message reads:

"Max and his girlfriend Kelly are expecting a baby! The happy couple announced this joyful news together via a post on Instagram. Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way. We couldn't be happier without the little miracle.
