Michael Schumacher's family makes an exception as son Mick Schumacher brings new addition to the inner circle: Reports

Michael Schumacher's family has reportedly made an exception for his son and former F1 driver, Mick Schumacher, as the latter introduced his girlfriend to the former Ferrari driver. The former seven-time world champion has been out of the public eye ever since his accident in December 2013, when he was skiing with his family. The accident left him in a medically induced coma for years with no updates about his condition being shared with the public.

As per reports by GB News, Michael Schumacher's family had previously denied Mick Schumacher from introducing any of his girlfriends to the 55-year-old legend. However, the family has reportedly made an exception for Mick's current girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic, as it is believed that she is now part of the German's inner circle away from the public eye.

Mick has been dating the Danish model since 2023. As of now, none of the Schumacher family members have commented on the reports of Laila Hasanovic meeting the former Ferrari driver.

Michael Schumacher retired from the sport at the end of the 2012 season after an unsuccessful three-year comeback with the Mercedes F1 team and was replaced by Lewis Hamilton in 2013.

Michael Schumacher reportedly makes his first public appearance

The reports of Schumacher's family making a U-turn regarding their stance on Mick introducing his girlfriends to his father came on the back of Michael's alleged first appearance in public after 11 years.

The former Mercedes driver's daughter, Gina-Maria Schumacher, got married and shared pictures of her wedding ceremony on social media on September 29.

As per reports from BILD, Michael Schumacher had also graced the occasion and made his first public appearance since the skiing accident. It is reported that the occasion was heavily guarded with the guests following a strict no-phones policy and leaving their devices at the door before attending the ceremony.

While there have not been many updates provided by the German's family regarding his recent condition, former FIA President Jean Todt gave his views on the situation to Le' Equipe in 2023, saying (as quoted by Independent):

“Michael is here, so I don’t miss him. [But he] is simply not the Michael he used to be. He is different and is wonderfully guided by his wife and children who protect him," Jean Todt said.
“His life is different now and I have the privilege of sharing moments with him. That’s all there is to say. Unfortunately, fate struck him ten years ago. He is no longer the Michael we knew in Formula 1,” he added.

Michael Schumacher retired from F1 with 91 victories, 68 pole positions, and seven world championships in his almost two-decade-long career.
