Picture: Kelly Piquet shares adorable picture of Lando Norris and Penelope Kvyat at the F1 Abu Dhabi GP
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen's girlfriend Kelly Piquet shared an adorable image with McLaren driver Lando Norris at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The sport has had an excellent season, with seven different drivers from four different teams winning multiple times.
While Verstappen secured his fourth successive world championship, Norris produced a career-best season, ran the Dutch driver close in the driver's championship and finished in P2.
Kelly, the daughter of the former three-time world champion Nelson Piquet Sr., had a special end to the season in Abu Dhabi as she celebrated her 36th birthday and announced that she would be expecting her first child with Max Verstappen next year.
Kelly already shares a five-year-old daughter, Penelope, with former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat, who she dated from 2015 to 2019. In her recent Instagram post, Kelly shared a series of pictures from the last week in Abu Dhabi, where she had much to celebrate.
One of the pictures on her roll featured Lando Norris getting a loving embrace from Penelope Kvyat during the weekend. In her caption, Kelly wrote:
"Last weekend was filled with celebrations, emotions, surprises and love 💘 I thank each and every one of you that made a difference - I have the best friends in the world."
Lando Norris lays down a marker for the 2025 season
McLaren driver Lando Norris admitted that he was aware of "what it takes" to become a world champion after pushing Max Verstappen in the 2024 season.
Speaking with Sky Sports, the British driver revealed that he had the confidence to go for the title next year given that the Woking-based outfit already became the Constructor's Championships this year ahead of Ferrari and Red Bull. He reflected:
"I certainly know I've got a lot of what it takes. There's no doubt about that, and I'm confident in saying that. I clearly, and I think this year, I proved not everything is where it needs to be, but even since those moments, I feel like I've improved a lot in the last quarter and the second half of the year, a huge amount.
"I have confidence in myself, which is, is not a common thing, and I'm never going to go around screaming that kind of thing. But I have confidence that I can fight against Max, and I can fight against Charles and all these other drivers who are just as capable of winning championships, even Lewis and stuff like that next year. So, I have what it takes."
Lando Norris finished 63 points behind Max Verstappen and was just able to hold off Charles Leclerc for P2 by 18 points at the end of the 2024 season.
