"The GOAT has left the building. Thank you, Lewis Hamilton": Mercedes employee bids farewell to the F1 legend on his visit to Brackley

Mercedes employee Katie Mostyn paid tribute to Lewis Hamilton as he departed from the team's base at Brackley. The seven-time F1 world champion has already driven his final race for the German team at the recently concluded Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last weekend where he finished P4.

It has been a bittersweet swansong for the 39-year-old as he had mixed performances in the W15. Although he had several lows and could only manage to finish P7 in the driver's standings, he did have the high of celebrating his win at Silverstone and inheriting another from his teammate George Russell in Spa in the 2024 season.

Mostyn, who works in the Lifestyle Partnerships, posted a video on her social media platform, X, where we can see Lewis Hamilton driving off in a car from their base at Brackley. She wrote:

"The GOAT has left the building. Thank you, Lewis."

Lewis Hamilton too his social media platform, Instagram, posted a series of pictures and bid adieu to Mercedes as he wrote:

"This is really it. After Abu Dhabi, after Kuala Lumpur, and after Stuttgart it comes to an end here. This has been my home. To the thousands of people who work at Brackley and Brixworth, you have been friends and teammates and I can’t thank you enough for all the hard work and support. It’s been real."

"I'm going to always be looking on the screens and seeing where you guys are. I'm always only wishing people the absolute best. I believe in you. I'll continue to believe in you and when you do have that success, and you're so proud of you, to know that I was hopefully a little bit part of your dream, your living as well.
"So huge thank you to you all and all my love. I want to wish you and your family as well. And I do hope, as I said, many years ago, I'll be able to come back and see you all so a big, big Thank you, everybody," he added.

Lewis Hamilton will be joining Ferrari on a multi-year deal in 2025 and will be racing alongside Charles Leclerc at least until the end of the 2026 season. The seven-time F1 world champion would also be guiding the Italian team in the new engine regulations in the hope of bringing back glory to Maranello.
