Watch: Penelope Kvyat gives Lando Norris a sticker just before the F1 Abu Dhabi GP as the driver goes on to win the race
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen's girlfriend's daughter, Penelope Kvyat was seen giving McLaren driver Lando Norris a sticker just before last weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It was an important weekend for the British driver, as he had the opportunity to win a fourth race of the season whilst also helping the Woking-based outfit in their quest for the constructor's championship against Ferrari.
Max Verstappen, who had already wrapped his fourth successive driver's title, had a momentous weekend in Abu Dhabi, as he announced that he would be becoming a father for the first time with his girlfriend Kelly Piquet.
The Dutch driver was joined by his family and friends to celebrate the occasion along with Piquet's five-year-old daughter Penelope, whom she shares with former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat.
In a clip floating on social media, Penelope was seen having a gala time in the paddock, as she was spotted sticking stickers on Lando Norris' head before the race. She even gave the 25-year-old a long hug while cutely interrupting Norris' embrace with his mother.
Lando Norris went on to win the race at the Yas Marina Circuit and successfully guided the Mclaren F1 team to their first constructors championship since 1998. With the win, he also finished P2 in the driver's championship for the first time in his career.
Lando Norris speaks about his chances in the 2025 season
McLaren driver Lando Norris had a positive outlook on his 2024 title-challenging campaign, as he stated that he delivered some strong results throughout the season.
Speaking in the post-race press conference, the four-time race winner said:
"I'm probably happy about it now that I'm going to go into next season knowing that I can fight. And I know myself, and I know more and better than anyone what I need to improve on, where I'm not strong enough, where I'm strong enough. You know, I'm always open for criticism, things like that.
"I feel like I've delivered some very strong results. But on the whole, next year is hopefully a year where I can go in and decide before the first race we're going to fight for a championship."
Norris added:
"We've not ever thought of that. We've not even had the feeling of it from a team perspective and also for me as a driver. So hopefully the next year is that year. And we obviously have a lot of work to do. And Ferrari are going to be pushing a lot. But that's another year. For now, I'm just going to celebrate with my team tonight and celebrate what they deserve."
Lando Norris finished the 2024 season 63 points behind Max Verstappen in the final standings and only had a gap of 18 points to Charles Leclerc in P3.
