WATCH: Red Bull mechanic’s dog welcomes master after the end of F1 triple-header
Red Bull mechanic, Sam Vincent's pet dog recently welcomed his master after he returned from a hectic triple-header race weekend. The triple-header race took place in the US, Mexico, and Brazil.
Red Bull had a tough race weekend in all three venues, as they continued to face stern competition from the likes of McLaren and Ferrari. In the US GP, Max Verstappen finished third, while Sergio Perez ended up in seventh position. In the Mexican GP, both drivers endured disappointment, as the Dutchman finished sixth, and while local boy Perez came 17th.
In the Brazilian GP, Max Verstappen had a masterclass performance and won the race after starting from P17. Perez, however, started from P13 but only secured P11, scoring no points in the third race.
After the three back-to-back races, almost every F1 worker, from driver to mechanic, went back to their homes for a much-deserved break. A clip of Red Bull mechanic, Sam Vincent, returning to his home and being greeted by his dog recently went viral.
The dog's name was Penelope and he had an Instagram and a TikTok account made by their owners. The clip was originally from its TikTok account but was later reposted by an F1 fan on X.
The video starts with Penelope sitting on the couch and looking out of the window. As soon as the dog recognized that his dad was home after three long weeks, he could not control his excitement and jumped off the couch and ran to the door. As soon as Vincent opened the door, the dog jumped on him to greet him.
As the Red Bull mechanic entered his house, Penelope kept jumping on his hind legs and reaching for his master.
The next race that takes place in the F1 calendar is the 2024 F1 Las Vegas GP. While Max Verstappen will try to secure his driver's title, Red Bull will push their hardest to overtake McLaren in the constructors' table.
Red Bull boss addresses Sergio Perez's contribution to the team amid tight championship battle with McLaren
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner recently talked about Sergio Perez's contribution to the team during an extremely tight championship battle with McLaren in 2024.
Speaking to F1.com after the Mexican GP, Horner said that both cars of a team need to perform to increase chances for a constructors' championship. He added that the team has done everything to help Checo improve.
“As a team, we need to have both cars scoring points and that’s the nature of F1. From the team’s perspective, we’re working with him as hard as we can to try and support. I think we’ve done everything that we can to support Checo, and we’ll continue to do so in Brazil next weekend, but there comes a point in time that you can only do so much,” Horner said.
As of now, Sergio Perez is down in eighth place with only 151 points. Whereas, his teammate Max Verstappen leads the table with 393 points. This massive difference in points has affected Red Bull's chances to win the 2024 F1 constructors' championship.
