"We did a special press conference for it": Max Verstappen's hilarious reply to his views on being a 4-time world champion

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen hilariously replied to pundit Tom Clarkson's question about giving his opinion on his fourth world title at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Dutch driver claimed his fourth successive driver's title at the Las Vegas Grand Prix when he finished ahead of his championship rival Lando Norris.

The 27-year-old had to dig deep into his racing arsenal to fend off the challenge from the British driver and McLaren as his RB20 lost performance after the Miami GP in early May.

Although Norris and the Woking-based outfit were the duo to beat for two-thirds of the season, the British driver was never able to significantly close the gap to Verstappen despite having the faster car.

During the pre-race press conference, Max Verstappen was asked how he felt after securing his fourth title in a row in 2024, to which he hilariously replied:

"I mean, I still have the same opinion! We did a special press conference for it. I sat there. I was waiting. I wanted to go out. I wanted to have a beer. I wanted to have a drink. Now I'm answering the same question again."

When Verstappen was again asked to repeat for people who did not possibly hear his response, he concluded:

"They can watch it back!"

Max Verstappen gives his take on winning the title despite not having the fastest car

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen stated that he was "proud" of the team and claimed that he believed in himself despite the slump in the RB20's performances during the middle part of the season.

Speaking in the press conference in Las Vegas, the 63-time race winner said:

"You always have to believe in yourself, but at the end of the day, it's a lot of people that have to come together and a lot of things that have to come together with the car, especially in the middle of the season where we had a lot of issues where we didn't really understand what was going on.
"But then I'm also very happy and I'm proud of how the team reacted, responded, and turned it around a bit. At one point, it seemed like we were a little bit lost, but at least now it feels like it's all a bit more normal. Yeah, all credit to the team for that. Of course, I know that it's been quite a tough season for us overall, also the constructors, but at least we still won one championship."

In the end, Max Verstappen finished the 2024 season with 437 points to his name and claimed nine wins and 14 podiums, which is one more than Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc, who both had 13.
