The Trans-Tasman rivalry is reignited once again as Australia host rivals, New Zealand in the first of three ODIs on Friday. After losing the ODI series to a rampant Indian side, the Kiwis bounced back emphatically with a white-wash in the T20I series. They now face the Australians fresh off a World T20 victory last year with Elyse Perry and Alyssa Healy in belligerent form in the international circuit. With the match being played at the iconic W.A.C.A, the Kiwis should pose a stern test for Meg Lanning and co.

Squads to choose from

Australia Women

Georgia Wareham, Elyse Villani, Megan Schutt, Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney, Delissa Kimmince, Jess Jonassen, Alyssa Healy(WK), Ashleigh Gardner, Lauren Cheatle, Rachael Haynes, Meg Lanning

New Zealand Women

Lea Tahuhu, Hannah Rowe, Anna Peterson, Amelia Kerr, Sophie Devine, Suzie Bates, Katie Perkins, Katey Martin, Amy Satterthwaite, Leigh Kasperek, Rosemary Mair, Hayley Jensen, Maddy Green

Playing XI Updates

Australia Women

Elyse Villani should open the batting alongside Alyssa Healy, who was recently awarded the Female Player of the Year(Australia) award. In Meg Lanning, Ellyse Perry and Rachael Haynes, Australia have a dynamic middle-order capable of causing havoc towards the end of the innings. Delissa Kimmince could feature in the side after a stellar WBBL season with Brisbane Heat while Megan Schutt and Georgia Wareham will be key with the new ball.

Possible XI: Healy(WK), Villani, Lanning(C), Perry, Haynes, Mooney, Gardner, Jonassen, Carey, Wareham and Schutt.

New Zealand Women

Lauren Down will be persisted at the top of the order alongside Suzie Bates, who had a productive T20I series against the Indian women. With Katey Martin returning to the side, Kiwis add much-needed batting depth in their side with Amelia Kerr and Leigh Kasperek also capable of clearing the ropes when necessary. Lea Tahuhu and Hannah Rowe will be expected to pick a few early wickets if they are to pressurize the Australians and beat them in their own backyard.

Possible XI: Bates, Down, Satterthwaite (C), Devine, Kerr, Martins(WK), Perkins, Kasperek, Rowe, Tahuhu and Peterson.

Fantasy Tips and Suggestions

Wicket-keeper: Alyssa Healy is arguably the most in-form batter in women's cricket right now and is the perfect option to have in the side. Her exploits in last year's ICC World T20 catapulted Australia to glory and the same is expected at the WACA as well.

Batters: Suzie Bates and Meg Lanning have ample experience playing in the highest level of women's cricket and are more than just viable selections to the fantasy team. Along with her, WBBL 2018-19 player of the tournament, Perry is also a must-have in the team while one of Satterthwaite or young, Lauren Down or Katie Perkins are also handy options to go by.

All-rounders: Amelia Kerr is the best youngster in women's cricket right now with the Kiwi having a double hundred to her name as well. Her loopy leg-spin has also propelled her to stardom making her a great option alongside Ashleigh Gardner and Sophie Devine. On a W.A.C.A pitch that has traditionally favoured fast bowlers, Devine could be key with her batting ability also considered.

Bowlers: The number two ranked bowler in the world, Megan Schutt and Lea Tahuhu are must-haves in the fantasy team while the likes of Hannah Rowe, Nicola Carey and the in-form Leigh Kasperek would also make great selections into the fantasy team.

Captain: Star all-rounders, Ellyse Perry and Sophie Devine are the prime candidates for captain with their all-round prowess and form justifying their selection. Suzie Bates and Alyssa Healy could also be viable options with both openers capable of big scores once they settle down.

Fantasy Suggestion #1: Alyssa Healy(WK), Suzie Bates, Meg Lanning, Amy Satterthwaite, Ellyse Perry, Amelia Kerr, Ashleigh Gardner, Megan Schutt, Anna Peterson, Hannah Rowe and Nicola Carey. Captain: Ellyse Perry

Fantasy Suggestion #2: Alyssa Healy(WK), Suzie Bates, Meg Lanning, Katie Perkins, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, Jess Jonassen, Georgia Wareham, Lea Tahuhu, Nicola Carey and Leigh Kasperek. Captain: Suzie Bates
