BAN vs WI Dream11 Prediction: 3 Differentials you can pick for today's Women's T20 World Cup 2024 match - October 10, 2024

Bangladesh and the West Indies face off in a crunch Group A clash of the ICC Women's T20I World Cup 2024 on Thursday, October 10, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

The West Indies enter this match on the back of a commanding win over Scotland, with some quick runs coming from their batting lineup, despite the struggles of captain Hayley Matthews. They'll look to keep the momentum going while also simultaneously being wary of their opponents.

Bangladesh is a team that deserves respect from their opponents, especially on this Sharjah wicket that plays to their strengths. Their spinners are among the best in the world, and if they take the right decision at the toss, they certainly have a chance in this match and could keep their slim semi-final hopes alive.

On that note, let's review a few Dream11 differential picks.

#3 Ashmini Munisar (BOWL) (WI)

20-year-old bowling all-rounder Ashmini Munisar made her T20 World Cup debut against Scotland, but couldn't create much of an impact on that game. The young off-spinner bowled only one over in the match, and didn't get an opportunity to bat either. As a result, her ownership is down to the low single digits going into this game.

However, the change in venue needs to be taken into account before assessing her as a Dream11 option. The Bangladesh batters showed a certain vulnerability to finger-spinners, as evidenced by their struggles against Charlotte Dean, Linsey Smith, and Saskia Horley, all in Sharjah.

With the action now shifting to the same spinner-friendly venue, Ashmini is sure to get more overs with the ball, and against not the strongest of batting lineups, she could pick up wickets and haul big.

#2 Shorna Akter (ALL) (BAN)

17-year-old all-rounder Shorna Akter is one of Bangladesh's brightest prospects. She's batting at No.5 or 6 at this World Cup, trying to give them much-needed firepower in that middle order, but she fell early against England before she could leave much of an impact on the game.

She's also a very handy leg-spinner and could be a dangerous bowler on wickets like the one in Sharjah, having already picked up 13 T20I wickets.

A solid all-rounder like her having such low ownership is quite surprising, and she certainly has the ability and high points ceiling to end up Bangladesh's highest Dream11 point-scorer of the match.

#1 Shemaine Campbelle (WK) (WI)

With Niger Sultana available for selection, Dream11 players are ignoring the West Indies wicketkeeper Shemaine Campbelle in their teams. The keeper-batter, who usually slots in at No.4, is another important member of this West Indies side.

Shemaine started as an all-rounder and was a very capable medium pacer with 34 T20I wickets to her name. The 31-year-old is also the most capped West Indies player in T20I cricket, with a penchant for effecting multiple dismissals behind the stumps in a match.

Given that the Bangladesh batting unit isn't the strongest, the chances of Shemaine picking up points for catches and stumpings are very high. This is in addition to the runs she could score with the bat, which given her high batting position, could be a high number.

She's a dependable Dream11 differential who should produce a decent haul in this match.
